Crea is an easily moddable, 2D sandbox game with a lighthearted mood, colorful art and RPG elements. Drawing on the pioneers of the sandbox genre such as Minecraft and Terraria, Crea features combat and crafting in attractive, randomly-generated worlds for you to explore, tear apart and build back up in your own design.

What sets Crea apart from the others is that it's created with you in mind. It's a game that fully realizes the potential of the community and mods, with every aspect designed to be easy to modify and customize. It's simple to modify characters, weapons, monsters, items, biomes, or to even create new playable races! Siege Games has an opening for a developer. This is not the first time I’m looking for a developer but I thought I’d try my luck again. This is primarily for development on Crea, but I’m really hoping to find a partner that will extend beyond that.

Here are details on the requirements, duties and benefits as well as contact information and what to include. Thanks for the consideration and feel free to share with anyone you think may be interested.

Development Status

  • We are a small team with primarily myself, Jasson, working on it.
  • Crea is currently in beta with over 2000 players and is continuing to grow.
  • We are at 98% to top 100 on Greenlight and anticipate being greenlit soon.
  • We currently estimate 4~ more months of development before 1.0 release and plan to continue development beyond that.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated, passionate and has great resolve (gets things done)
  • Advanced scripting knowledge
  • Game design sense
  • Available to work for 30+ hours a week for the next few months (at least)
  • Experienced programmer (Python/C++ bonus)

Duties

  • Assist in designing content such as items, monsters, and biomes
  • Implement content and features using the engine API (Python). This will range from new items to monster AI.
  • Help write modding documentation
  • Willingness to help wherever needed
  • Daily communication

If this uses a structure for modding similar to dwarf fortress, where everything is stored externally and easily changeable through text files (and images of course), I'll be very excited.

All content is in python files and the majority of gameplay systems are as well. Here are the contents of the Leather item file as an example.

Add Dungeons , NPC Mines , NPC where you can buy stuff , fishing to get food from water , underwater exploration with Loads of stuff also Underwater Bosses. Crea has Infinite World Generating or limited?

This is awesome! This will BE Better than Terraria! Just please add awesom features like LOTS OF Biomes, Storms with real time clouds , jungle biomes and if you go down there should be Hell or something like that also LOT OF BOSSES should make the game perfect! also a feature to go to the moon also alien attacks. There should be an always moving UFO at the top of the world which you can see rarely and if you see and shoot it down the alien invaders will come :D and if you kill them you get a piece to the portal and 3 pieces = Portal to the moon.
