Crawle is a sandbox dungeon crawler with a focus on realistic survival using mechanics such as hunger, thirst, diseases and wilderness survival such as creating your own tools, skinning animals for meat and fur and using the resources around you to stay alive. The game is currently in beta meaning that the game is very subject to change in the next few months before full release.

- Going without food or drink will cause you to die, diseases may also develop on your character from eating raw food or being around dead animals, increasing your death rate. They will also decrease certain stats.
- Dungeons can be found on the other side of holes. These dungeons will provide you with supplies and treasure. You can't stay for too long though, low sanity will kill you.
- Every mode besides easy mode has permadeath. However on the lower difficulty modes you have more chances.
- You can play blindly! Blind-mode gets rid of any informative pieces of GUI including health bars and item tool tips.
- Health is based off your blood content and the damage to your body parts. You can also bleed out.
- Animals do not despawn, instead they can be skinned, picked up and taken to your house or just left to rot.

2 comments by Sekaru on Apr 5th, 2014

The main focus of 0.9.0 was two new features. The new temperature system along with the new Quivers system. There's also a few quality-of-life changes and fixes in this patch too.

User Posted Image

 0.8.3 --> 0.9.0
 - New temperature system:
 - The maximum temperature is now 100 and the minimum is 0.
 - You can now only lose temperature at night or during rain/snow.
 - You can now gain temperature by standing near a fire.
 - You can no longer die of low/high temperature, instead you will black out at 0.
 - Low temperature will now continuously effect stats (energy, hunger and sanity).
 - Added a quiver (bear/rabbit fur + leather). Can be equipped as normal.
 - Equipping the quiver will allow you to store a maximum of 20 arrows.
 - Double-clicking arrows will now add them to your quiver.

 - The "Faded GUI" option now also applies to the blood content bar.
 - Increased the speed at which arrows move.
 - The charge bar will now instantly appear after holding down RMB.
 - The "Faded GUI" option will now be off by default.
 - Music and sound options will now go up/down in intervals of 5.

 - Fixed swimming in non-existant water.
 - Fixed an error with the merchant spawning in multiplayer.

 Major highlights

The new temperature system, as listed above, is designed to be more intuitive. The previous one had a lot of stages and a lot of consequences for low/high temperature - this one only has a few. Read the changelog above for all the new changes to the temperature system.

The Quiver system is a new way to organise your arrows. Previously, each arrow would take up one inventory space but with this new system, each quiver can hold a maximum of 20 arrows (you can only have one quiver equipped at any one time). If you have a quiver equipped, the arrows will automatically go into your quiver (if you have space).

FREAKING MINECRAFT RIPOFFS! I know it doesn't seem like Minecraft, but the creator obviously got the idea from Minecraft.

I've played Minecraft twice since it first appeared. Once in the 'Adventure Mode update' once in 1.0.

I disliked it. I personally think it is one of the worst games ever made but also one that was lucky enough to get into a market due to a niche.

I've also said it before, I don't care about whether or not people think I'm stealing Minecraft or whatever they'd like to think, I'm just trying to make a decent game.

But since you'd like to look like an idiot in front of everyone maybe you'd like to know that this game is inspired more so by Terraria and Haven & Hearth, two games me and my pixel artist enjoy.

Also last I checked Minecraft doesn't have randomly generated actual dungeons with mazes, loot, bosses. It hasn't got a huge survival element to it and there is no point to it.

It does >.> Just an FYI, if you are going to trash talk another game, and feed the trolls, at least do it right. Best way to beat trolls is ignore them, they strive for attention.

you should make your terrain variations less square.

I've like 99% finished corners. Also the map hasn't got many seeds on it so the variation is pretty low.
