Feb 27, 2013 Counter-Strike: Zombie Extermination Patch 7 commentsPATCH FOR CS:ZE : CHANGES: - Updated Deagle's Sounds - Changed Radio sounds - fixed some animation problems
Right now, there are people all over the world playing Counter-Strike: Source. Odds are, there are more people playing today than there were playing yesterday. It, like its predecessor, is quite simply a global phenomenon, originally created by and now sustained by the gaming community.
Counter-Strike: Source is a remake of Counter-Strike, and consequently retains all of its team-based objective-oriented first-person-shooter style gameplay. CS:S is a must-have for every action gamer.

Seems there isn't much going on here, though I only use CS:S with Garry's mod and bots so I can improve my twitch skills for Team Fortress 2. Your also going to need this game for when Black Mesa comes out, as it uses CS:S content.
Now you won't CS:S to play Black mesa.

Technically not - CS:S is a standalone game built on the Source engine. CS was a mod of HL, but CS:S was built from the ground up on Steam, and can run without any of the HL2 content installed.
The Mod DB definition of 'Game' is "Can be downloaded or purchased and will run without needing any previous game to be installed, ie contains all its own engine and media (Think indie games or full commercial titles), or is a commercially released mod which includes rights to use all required engine and media content (Think Garry's Mod)". We don't strictly keep to that, but wherever possible we aim to.
