As I'm sure some of you have noticed, the game is taking a bit longer to complete than I had anticipated (Isn't that always the way?). As such the financial side of things isn't great, and I may have to decrease the amount of time working on IRL in order to pay my way.
This is why I wanted to ask if you guys would consider buying a pre-alpha version, sort of an early-early access copy of the game? I hate asking this, but it would allow me to work on IRL with less pressure, and also let you guys have a play around with what I've done so far, and also give you access to frequent updates as development progresses.
So I guess you're wondering what the pre-alpha actually will be, and why you would want to buy it?
- Support the development of the game by funding it.
- Get the game at a discounted price from the final release.
- Purchasing will entitle you to all updates, up to and including Version 1.0.
- Pre-Alpha will feature 4 drivable cars, with different stats.
- Around 50 items that you can decorate your house with, such as furniture, flooring etc.
- 1 Business for you to manage.
As it is a pre-alpha, you would start off with enough money to buy a business and get some supplies for it, as well as a little left-over cash to furnish your house a little.
I work on the game a lot, but in the grand scheme of things, it would still take a while to reach Version 1.0, however if you bought the pre-alpha, the game would be constantly updated with new features and fixes.
I'm not going to lie, or use some clever marketing speech. Only consider buying this pre-alpha if you want to support development, or if you're just really excited for the final game. It isn't at the state where an average gamer passing by would be interested in it.
There would also be a free version of the pre-alpha available to everyone, this version wouldn't be updated like the paid version though, it's just to let you know what state the game is actually in before you make a decision.
So, please let me know in the comments if you would be interested in me offering a pre-alpha copy in the not too distant future. If there is enough positive response, I'll offer it via a distribution service that accepts PayPal & Amazon Payments.
