Conquest of Elysium 3 is an old school fantasy strategy game. You explore your surroundings conquer locations that provides the resources you need. Resources needed vary much depending on what character you are, e.g. the high priestess need places where she can gather human sacrifices, the baron needs places where tax can be collected and where iron can be mined. These resources can then be used for magic rituals and troop recruitments. The main differentiator for this game is the amount of features and special abilities that can be used. The game can be played on Windows, Linux (x86 and raspberry pi) and Mac OSX (intel and powerpc).

Hi,

I've got a rather old laptop with onboard Intel GMA 965 gfx. Whenever I launch the game I just get a black screen. If I run the game in 256 colours (using Compatibility mode) then I can see some of the menu options but it looks pretty terrible. If I restart my laptop in safe mode (or if I run the game after uninstalling my gfx driver) then the game actually runs, albeit very slowly as I suspect there's no hardware acceleration. I've got the latest Intel driver (and even tried a few custom drivers from the 9xxssf crew) but nothing seems to work.

Has anyone had similar issues and been able to resolve them?

Cheers

You could try to start the game in windowed mode. Either change the preferences from safe mode, or use the --window switch.

Hi JK,

Unfortunately I've already tried that and it didn't work, but thanks for trying. I'm back from OS now anyway so I'm happily playing on my desktop, so it's not a big deal at the moment.

This probably isn't the thread to mention it but I think I spotted a bug (or possibly a feature that I haven't read about) with the autosave. I was playing a demonologist and after my turn I had 98 sacrifices (income of 18). I quit without saving, however when I came back to it later, reloading the autosave, I only had 80 sacrifices. I tested it again and confirmed that it's reproducible and that it applies to all resources, (i.e., gold and iron aswell).

Cheers!
