Post news Report RSS Depths - Submarine Exploration Game Major Update

Depths just got an awesome update were, based on your feedback, we were able to improve our controls, visuals and introduced a tutorial and several other level improvements.

Posted by on

If this is the first time you ear about Depths here is a brief explanation: Depths is a game of underwater exploration with a mix of time trial. Through the course of 20 levels you'll have to dodge, out run or kill several wildlife that will try to keep you from your main goal, to reach the exit door at the end of each level. Sounds easy enough but the maze like levels with hidden passages revealed only by your sonar and the several hazards like land slides and marine currents will keep you from reaching the end of the level in time

In this update we made some significant performance optimizations and visual improvements. In the game you have the ability to buy power ups has you progress through the levels. We had some changes made to the power ups and now every one has awesome visual effects and easier to understand effects. We also reduced the price of every power up making it easyer to get coins to buy your favorite powers.

We added a a tutorial level that takes you step from step, from moving your submarine to the finding of the door in the end of the level. We understand that has simple has a game is there is always room to explain what you must do and, possibly more important, how you should do it.

We also took a look at some portions of the game (nearly every level) and made them flow more naturally to the course of the intended game play. Our decisions were to make the levels more engaging and reactive to the player presence but never with the intent to make the challenge humanly impossible to pass, to tell the true some levels do seem insane there's a method to my madness =).

The game is actively being updated, we're already making more stuff to put in the game and optimizing it even more. But to tell the truth all the updated i talked about in here were only possible to identify this fast with the feedback of the comunity.

So if I may ask anything... Post, coment, rate, etc.
Just send us feedback we'll give you cake for it (or is it lie?)
The game is free, the links here!

This game controls
are simple and easy to grasp, just press and hold your finger in the
direction that you want your submarine to move. Sounds easy enough but
the maze like levels with hidden passages revealed only by your sonar
and the several hazards like land slides and marine currents will keep
you from reaching the end of the level in time.

Depths - Submarine Exploration Game

Time is your main concern in this game, but there's other
elements that kill you immediately like a World War II naval mine or
giant sharks that just seem eager to eat a peace of your submarine for
some reason. Of course get power ups to help you pass this obstacles and
there's is macabre satisfaction in controlling a submarine with turbo
and missiles racing trough all those pesky fishes like they are nothing.
If
competitive play is your cup of tea, there's even a leader board system
tied with facebook were you can compete with your friends for the best
score in every level.
