ABOUT THIS GAME

Over 350 years in the future mankind has embraced space travel and exploration. We have colonized many worlds and spread ourselves across the galaxy. The Colonial Defense Force (CDF) is responsible for the security of Earth and her colonies, and our only line of defense against the unknown.

On March 1st 2368 contact was lost with our most distant colony, located in the Icarus system. Two days later the Dreadnought class spaceship CDF Goliath was dispatched to investigate. Experience the events that transpire as a Marine on the boarding party to the Icarus 3 Space Station and as a pilot returning from another mission a few days later.

Discover what happened to the CDF Goliath and why nine days after entering the Icarus system it was finally declared a Ghostship.

Features

Story Mode

Play from the viewpoint of 2 different characters in an open world with random events and enemies, and a huge focus on atmosphere and immersion.

Skirmish Mode

You are one of the last survivors! With just 1 life, escape the ship if you can!

Onslaught Mode

A wave based survival mode where you must kill as many enemies as you can. There are 8 different onslaught maps which are based on locations from the story mode.

Challenge Mode

Offers a variety of diverse challenges which will test your combat ability, agility, and problem solving skills. There are 8 different challenge maps which are based on locations from the story mode.

Simulation Mode

Consists of a wide variety of single missions based on historic CDF battles and simulations created for the Marines on the Goliath to hone their skills.

Multiplayer & Co-op

We are planning to add multiplayer and coop game modes if there are enough funds to support it. The more friends you get to buy CDF Ghostship, the more likely it is you'll get to play it with them.

We have been working hard on CDF Ghostship for the last 2 years and are looking forward to releasing what our tiny dev team have accomplished with no funds. We want to turn an awesome indie game into an epic indie game and in the last stage of development we are looking to include a huge free roaming space station as well as the ship. We aim to add multiplayer and co-op due to many requests and we polishing up the game and raising the bar.

We have updated the videos section with our official teaser trailer and new screen shots.

Great game but if your a pussie like me prepare for a change of underwear every 2-3 mins because the atmosphire in this game is f-ing great really havent had a game leave me in such a state as this 1 for a long time really really lookin forward to this gettin released gunna chuck myself over on to indiegogo and see whats happenin massive thanks to them team and i love it thank you again!!!

Yeah, In story mode there will be a few zero gravity decks, and there may even be some multiplayer zero g action :)

Keep an eye out for a peek at alpha V0.36 - Featuring a third view! Real first person Helmet view. Its awesome and I cant wait to get the Oculus Rift Dev kit! WHEN WE FINALLY GET SOME FUNDING, A Zero budget is a huge draw back! :)

I'm surprised you haven't gotten more funding for Ghostship actually. Considering theres been other games on Kickstarter and Indiegogo that cleared $100,000 in funding, I don't see why yours for 25,000 (pounds? euros? unsure which) isn't. Your game isn't like most FPSs, and it does have a playable alpha build, which most games don't. It may be that people REALLY want a multiplayer mode... though as few people ever comment its hard to say on that... as this is developed by the UDK, would it be possible to have offline bots in Onslaught mode? That 'may' attract more people, as it is fairly difficult to do solo. (though all these features are becoming feature creep, and with few responders its hard to tell what would entice people to buy into it)

I've tried Angry Joe's forums (as he appears to support Indie stuff and other high quality products and doesn't support poor quality products and wants to get the industry to stop releasing poor quality stuff) but haven't gotten any nibbles on it and keeps getting forum buried. I'd suggest maybe sending him a message on his Youtube channel, personally.

Cheers, I was doing some searching last night and came across the angry joe forum. I was going to post something myself but couldn't register, kept asking me for money lol.

Why i am struggling with just 25k funding I don't know. I got to 4% of that on Kickstarter and indieGoGo is not even going to reach that compared to its trend.

In the last bid to save this game I am showing off the helmet mode and a the totally redone alpha as suggested in the feedback. I have 3000 hours invested in this and now on steam there are people saying they are willing to play it if its free. It will take me another 2k hours at least to get to to the beta stage on Halloween so if I still not have managed to get funding or support in spending thousands of hours of my time I will be looking at publishers to take the game further.

I will be releasing alpha 0.36 as in some of the promo material you are going to see in the hope that i can get some funding. Up-to now i have received £250 in total for pre-orders and would happily refund that knowing that i will spend another 3k at least to get the game finished and then i can not even release it. I would rather get a job and pay the pre-orders back with half a weeks wages than work 100+ hours a week for the next 8 months with so many uncertainties. If people prefer to put money on an idea by someone has has never worked in the industry then its time for me to move onto the film industry with my VFX. People don't realize that I am spending 100+ a week on this and sacrificing an income of a job. I am hoping people are just waiting till the end of the month but time will tell.

I can understand that even though I haven't worked on a project solo. I'd consider sending Angry Joe a message on Youtube. It'd be a shame to not see CDF Ghostship see the light of day, but I agree that you shouldn't have to invest thousands of hours with little return on your investment. It'd be a little different I think if you got all of your funding and then some, but otherwise? No, better to pull the plug rather than go down with the 'ship' (so to speak).
