Like a phoenix not yet burned to ashes, so is TS:AE. Or something. Whatever. UPDATE!
After a real life induced hiatus, TS:AE is slowing churning back to life. A task of scope and scale unfathomed by the author at the time, the mod makes progress despite the sheer distance left to the finish line.
For those that may have forgotten, Tiberian Sun: Asset Expansion does what it says on the tin; expands the available civilian and terrain assets available to the player, all the while making them in a higher definition.
It also has an optional side project that remasters all GDI and Nod assets in order to make new ambient assets to fill out those masterfully crafted bases and outposts.
First, a mile stone has been reached: Half of the civilian buildings of the temperate theater have been completed. This may not sound like a milestone, but there are essentially two building styles in Tiberian Sun. There are the tall civilian buildings like Hewitt's Hair Salon, then there are rural prefab buildings like Rade's Roadhouse. All of the rural prefabs have been finished! Yay!
Now, the remaining tall buildings are beginning to be worked on. Most of these are as simple, but the damaged frames are far more time consuming to create. Especially for a one man team! Here is the first of about 21 buildings left in the temperate theater.
GDI has been getting a lot of love, and not only in the building department. Say hello to this little guy!

The Wolverine mech is the first of the 3 mechs to be remastered on a lengthy to do list, but other vehicles have been worked on as well. (More on that later.)
The remaster project may seem almost unnecessary to some, but it allows me to make new assets to a quality that I can replicate, thus letting me have (too much) fun with civilian assets based on the wolverine.
