In the near future, world leaders are mere seconds from signing a global treaty and bringing an end to war as we know it when a devastating terrorist attack rips through the peace conference, killing all in attendance. In a world left with no politicians, diplomats, or activists, only the Generals remain. It’s up to you to assume their roles, command of their forces, and put an end to global terrorism once and for all.

Thank you for your participation over the last few months in the Command & Conquer closed alpha test. It’s been much appreciated, and you’ve been instrumental in helping define what a new Command & Conquer experience should and shouldn’t be.

Part of being in a creative team is the understanding that not all of your choices are going to work out. In this case, we shifted the game away from campaign mode and built an economy-based, multiplayer experience. Your feedback from the alpha trial is clear: We are not making the game you want to play. That is why, after much difficult deliberation, we have decided to cease production of this version of the game. Although we deeply respect the great work done by our talented team, ultimately it’s about getting you the game you expect and deserve.

Over the next 10 days we will be refunding any and all money spent in the alpha. If you have a question about your refund, please contact

We believe that Command & Conquer is a powerful franchise with huge potential and a great history, and we are determined to get the best game made as soon as possible. To that end, we have already begun looking at a number of alternatives to get the game back on track. We look forward to sharing more news about the franchise as it develops. Thank you again for your participation and support.

Frostbite 2 is the engine Battlefield runs on, it alows more destructable terrain, higher graphics, etc. It will obviously be way different from Generals, but I'm assuming (just a guess) that it will be modifiable since there are Battlefield mods out, as long as your good at coding and VERY good at modeling since the graphics will be insanely more detailed from Generals 1

Everything that is required to ruin a good game is Origin, if they add that to this game we can already say its gonna be crap...

If a third faction has not been decided I would like to propose a North Korea faction, a lot can happen in 30 years from our own reality, China could actually (likely IMO) be secretly sponsoring and supplying weapons and supplies in small amounts to North Korea.
(hence how they all of a sudden gained the ability to launch ICBMS and detonate nukes IRL)

To tie this in with the Generals 2 storyline, China may have been more open and generous with supplying weapons and essentials to the North Korean military since they "righteously" won the 1st war against the GLA and essentially ruled the world as an undisputed superpower. China may go the way of USSR and try to establish "Satellite Nations" and obviously North Korea would be a prime candidate.
(the other possibly being Vietnam)

North Korea accepts the terms since they would appreciate a change from strict isolationism and the lure of modernizing their military with a neighboring "ally" which happens to be a superpower. China gives them their old military hardware used in Generals 1 so they can make room for a more modernized "peacekeeping" army. A few years pass until we get to the incident where the peace treaty meeting gets attacked thus sparking the 2nd war against the GLA.

Meanwhile, North Korea secretly decides to betray China and goes on a wacko Hitler-esque crusade against the rest of the world using the advanced hardware and supplies that China had given to them.
(possibly forming a secret alliance with the GLA for additional support so they could distract China and the other nations from their true motives until the time was right)
However, this part of the story would not exactly be defined until later on, but it would be an interesting story, nonetheless.

The only thing that gets complicated in this story scenario is if China does indeed get omitted from being a playable faction in Generals 2 then the developers need to come up with a good story as to why this came to be in the first place for the sake of continuity.

If China is still as important as in the first General, they can't be absent... Also, if North Korea start a world-conquest, China might disapprove...
But your idear about an "URSS-like" China is not bad, maybe, instead of China, we could have an Asian Alliance...
