PSP Version Status:

  • Scoped weapon support and Iron sights added
  • some code cleanup (mostly engine warnings)
  • Switched back to QMDL format due the bad animation quality of MD2
  • Playermodels texture got improved
  • PSP version will get one "major" release and a few bugfixes
  • I will leave the PSP "sector" after this game is finished

DarkPlaces Version Status:
*

  • Will be coded from scratch and make use of some DP features
  • Better modelformats and HD textures
  • Quake 3 BSP for maps
  • requires a fast PC / Device
  • Should run on every platform (PC and Android are our test platforms)

* I have plans to switch over to the Darkplaces engine and abandon the PSP platform after im
finished with CoW1944 PSP. So im not 100% sure if im going to port CoW1944 to DP, it can
be everything... Maybe even a totally new game, so the DP port of CoW1944 isnt a promize.

Also sorry, no screenshots for this time, theres nothing new to see.

Don't let the PSP Version to die... We just want any update with several bug fixes, some maps to add/dlc or something like that, I can't see the PSP Version dead, so I want to work with you if possible ^^

Im just sick doing everything alone... and my motivation is almost gone, especially wasting months of time just animating the weapons... Im not an animator, so everything looks like garbage...

Mabuse, we've told you time and time again that we have an animator that would be willing to do a few weapons for you.

Here's something he's done: Youtube.com

He's professional, and usually charges a lot per animation, but since he knows Meatbox well he'd be willing to do each gun for $5. Honestly, Meatbox and I would be happy to pay to animate some of your guns for this price. Just think about it

EDIT: You haven't seen any of his weapon animations yet.. the BTL ones were from another guy.

no, i dont want to pay somebody for doing stuff for a free game. I think im going to reduce the amount of weapons and keep out the unfinished ones, especially the horrible bolt action rifles.

You know we can pay him for you

We developers need to work together in times like this.

All we ask in return is to get this game out for the PSP, Like you promised back when this whole thing started.

Alright, the guy who did the Beyond the Lines gun animations would do them for free, but they would take a few weeks to get done. :/

I think that kicking out some weapons would be OK for this type of game. Whatever works for you man, hopefully this game will see the light of day on some of our PSP's :)

Maybe you should make a release of the source. There are people who would be willing to animate the weapons. I would help if I could.

You don't have to do everything yourself man

Mabby, Don't ever drop the PSP version.
You have come so far, to make what may be a game that is better than Medal of Honor Heroes, and you did it all within a little over a year.
WITH NO BUDGET!
You may think nobody cares, but they do.
In many ways you inspired others, in many ways you gave people a reason to dust of the nearly 10 year old PSP.
You can't stop now!
