Cardinal Quest is an arcade-style dungeon-crawler inspired by 1980s classics such as Gauntlet, Red-Box D&D and Golden Axe: Choose your champion and begin your quest to slay the Evil Minotaur!

Excellent "Jump in and dungeon crawl" roguelike. easy to learn, and each class has it's own merits to play as (with a different reason for being in the dungeon between them). Cardinal Quest is similar to Desktop Dungeons, in that it can be completed under 1/2 an hour, however it's no push over. You'll have to utilize strategy and take special care in the later levels. You have 2 lives in each play, and once you lose your first, there isn't a way to get it back in that run, so play smart!
There is a good selection of spells, each one being useful if used correctly. Armour, Weapons and Accessories are found in treasure chests, which are found randomly in the levels and are automatically equipped if better then what you are currently wearing. If you find an item that matches your current one close enough, then your character will store the old item in your bag, incase you want to switch back to it. Items worse then what you have are exchanged for gold coins (points).
I suggest this game to anyone interested in an easy to play but challenging roguelike that they can beat in a small amount of time.

Cardinal Quest is just what it says it is: an arcadey, fast and fun rogue-like.
It feels like a mashup between HeroQuest and Legends of Yore. Simple, addictive, perfect for a quick game when you're taking a break.
With more content added, it could prove a VERY solid addition to anyone's list of games.

Lovely "coffee break" rouge game. Removes all the tedious inventory management and strips it down to pure gameplay.

CQ is a solid game overall, though I didn't find myself totally drawn into it. Good for jumping into now and then though.
