Frontlines R3L04D!

This project is closed since 2011 but we are still playing a lot and aside I could not add a single line of code without crash the game because I crossed all the limits of the engine, I decide to start several optimizations and improvements in the code to open space to let me come back to work into this mod again.


After several hours of studing the code I found out some weird ways to open some free space, which aside is minimal it's enough to do few amazing things and improvements that I wanted to do for many time. A beta version is already online at Blood Culture servers and everyone is loving the improvements. A topic was open in the forums with the progress of this new version.

Bots still impossible to this version since I'll need to code them to each of the 42 gametypes, something impossible to do with the space that I have available to work right now, but might be a solution in the way... something EPIC is coming again to Call of Duty series.

The first big improvement it's the Airborne Mode which is already working and we are doing the final tests. This new mode simply add more 38 new gametypes to Frontlines. Come to the servers to test them with us. We play every Sunday @ 20:00h GMT-3 since 2008, but also have matches on Tuesday and Friday with less players. You are all welcome to join us!

Frontlines R3L04D - Global WAR Server

Main Features in this update:

  •  Points System redone to give more to players focused in objective and teamplay
  •  Stars & Medals System to give Hardpoints instead of Killstreaks
  •  Improved way of Medic save his friends
  •  Improved way of use a Computer/Terminal
  •  Fixed CTF double flag bug 
  •  Fixed few small bugs

Compared to Call of Duty 4 this game is "meh" at best. First of all, why WWII? Why drag a game that evolved out of the genre kicking and screaming back into it? Also first Russian level? Enemy at the Gates in video game form.

I still laugh that they even attempted to imitate Call of Duty 4 by building up a relationship with the characters in the game then killing them off. They failed utterly at it, the characters were barely memorable other than one, and they killed them off too soon. Heck the one that I actually considered "kind of cool" survived the whole game.

I was sad and angry at the end of CoD4, same with World at War but for very different reasons. I didn't just watch several virtual "brothers" die, all I did was waste $50.

Flamethrower and Ray gun is a better combo because when you reach level 30 an higher bullets dont do a damn thing to them only flames an the ray gun can bring them down.

YEA I MADIT TO ABOUT 34 ON NOTHING BUT A TRENCH GUN AND A SAWN OFF SO THATS A LOAD O HOEY. just takes alot of bullets and a damn good shot to kill em and a hint to all u people going WTF^^ IT GOES PAST LVL 10 yes there is a few good camping places i like 1 of them is up stairs to the far corners there is a small broken wall on the rooms right hand side (wen walking to it) get down the end and stand inbetween the walls and u can make them all funnel in threw that narrow coridore Ps watch the window to the right and reload on the calm patches.

One of the few Call of duty games I actually loved. It brought out the grim and brutal nature of World War II, had two diverse campaigns, and most of the weapons felt satisfying.
