Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 picks up where Modern Warfare 2 left off with the invasion of Manhattan by Russian forces. You will blaze through 20 action-packed missions located in England, Russia, America, Germany, and France, playing as a Russian Federal Protective Services agent, an SAS Operative and a tank gunner. The Spec-Ops missions from MW2 will make a return, split into "Mission" and "Survival" modes. Also, Call of Duty: MW3 will have the amazing CoD-style multiplayer that you have come to known.

Good news everyone, Modern Warfare 3 will have dedicated server support for PC players!

Posted by Henley on Aug 17th, 2011

Back in 2009 a little game called Modern Warfare 2 disappointed pc gamers by removing everything that makes the PC version of the game superior to any of its console brethren. I am talking about dedicated servers. The act disabled any sort of real modding to the game along with the ability to make custom maps, build communities and not be forced into waiting for the develoepr to patch the multiplayer with extra content.

Good news everyone, Modern Warfare 3 will have dedicated server support for PC players! This was revealed today at Gamescom by the associate manager for Call of Duty Digital, Jay Frechette, and reaffirmed by Sledgehammer boss Glen Schofield on Twitter.

It is good to see developers learning from their mistakes, the mapping community will not be silent if you cross them! *fist pumps and so on*

Not like a care, I'm still not getting it anyway due to the fact that the gameplay will be almost exactly the same as CoD 4 and MW2, I've gotten tired of those two games' gameplay, so... not much point buying it if it's just for a few new weapons, maps and perks when you're not interested in the game itself anymore. The £40 price tag also just makes me want it even less.

except battlefield will be entirely new all cod mw3 will have is 1 new game mode, 2 new guns, 1 new map, 50 dlc's for 10 euros or whatever currency you have, wich are already done before full game release.
and the players will be even worse then in the older games.

I won't be surprised if Dedis won't be in the game after the release and they will simply say that it was a unconfirmed rumor lol. Anyone that are buing this are ******* retards, doesn't matter if you want or can, you just are, this game isn't even worth pirating. I bet dlc's will come in at 20$ per 3 maps because of this extra awesome feature that gives pc player the edge.

Well, at least some good news.
However, what an online-fps really needs is mapping. I mean, CS, CSS, TF2,...wouldn't be so popular for such a long time (especially CS) if players would have to run down the same handful of maps for years.
On gamebanana.com there are thousands of maps for free. I don't know, but I don't see this getting boring because of lacking content...

I dont think this is activision being kind to the modding community, I think this is just an attempt to get ahead of Battlefield 3, since that wont have modding support, I think they now opening up to try and beat battlefield 3 wherever they can.

Tactfull but also kinda low in the same way that this wouldn't be coming from them as an act of generosity, but more for the money (again)

Anyhow, this is the good thing about competition, it kills monopolizing companies and forces initiative and kind generosity, even if it is with a fake smile =]

Now just need to do the same with Halo =/ seeing as it is becoming the next CoD

Well Since VALVe has had Dedicated Servers since 1998, ID has had dedicated servers since the beginning of time, and now Activision is putting dedicated servers in their game for the first time, Activision is a bit tarty to the party, and has already dug its own grave.

Activision is a supermassive corporate giant, that swallowed Blizzard, IW, Treyarch, and over 30 more companies to produce a supercompany, that will one day, collapse under its own weight, leaving only the few glorious companies that still exist today.

The only interest I have in MW3 is the story so I'll just watch its play-through on YouTube. I rather spend my money on a game that will have me fighting in massive battles and beautiful environments that provide immersion and better quality gameplay overall.

Battlefield 3 FTW

Thats your opinion on what makes a good game. I will have to agree on this one with you, but keep in mind that some people like one man army games. The dictionary definition of the word "battlefield" is "a place or situation of strife or conflict". Thus all the Battlefield games must be a game of war, strategy and teamwork. They must cover every aspect of a battle, including vehicles. "Call Of Duty" is a phrase, it means to be called up for the same war you've already fought before. Making the game's name have little relation to the story. That is why they are more free in what the game can be about. Activation decided they wanted a fast paced one man army first person shooter.

I hope this clears some matters up.

Great news. I hope they release a map editor and mod SDK, then it will be a certain buy. I just don't like the overall consensus in the industry where they prohibit the community from making any modifications to the games and instead releases "add-ons" and expansion packs with a few extra maps for $20...Why this greed? A billion $ isn't enough, gotta have double...

Yea, but I still think this Apple-fication (make standard products, sell at premium price and make sure no third-party gadgets or accessories are compatible with the primary product) is a bad thing. Sure, in a digital media dreamworld, there would be no piracy, no moddable games and all FPS games would only contain ONE weapon in the basic edition. Additional weapons would be bought via cash shops...SO it's a good move we see here regarding MW3.

I`m not buying any of their games anymore... Black Ops was just... bad, to say the least. Everything is the same as MW2 (which I found good but when the DLCs came I was like "f*ck this") with some new guns and maps, which I call them re-skins. I got to level 20 and stopped playing. True story. I would have sold the game but you cannot use it on another Steam account after you registered it to some other.

I`d rather buy a 60 euro DICE game than any other COD game.
