Man this mod is going to be so awesome.Your mod has so much potential and i love your attention to detail and historic realism. All the content you have released so far is jaw dropping (awesome).
I wanted do do you some questions so sorry for spending your time but i can't help my self.
I was wondering how many people work in this mod approximately?
And also because of this mod's awesomeness i can hardly wait to play it,do you think it will be ready until winter?
And will you have an open beta (i really recommend it the sooner we can play the better)
Thank you for your time, your mod rocks.

Thanks MGreg! Really appreciate the support. Np, questions are always welcome! Right now we're a relatively small team of 4-5 members (it fluctuates a little as we've outsourced a few bits and pieces to freelancers). We're also on track for an alpha in the coming months - be sure to track us for updates on stuff like alpha sign ups and so on.

Cheers!

Thanks for the fast replies earlier and the info!
I was playing shogun 2 and then i remembered something,as you know the main weapon of the samurai during wartime was the yari even in the book of five rings (a book written by the greatest swordsman in japan Miyamoto Musashi) he tells that the yari and naginata and heavy swords like nodachi are the main weapon of the samurai during wartime while the sword (katana or tachi or wakizashi) and all other swords are back ups in case yari breaks or something like that. The sword came in favor during edo period because they were fighting duels with no armor. In wartime sword were not of much use expect cuting down unarmored men since all samurai and even some ashigaru wore armor.
So i was wondering if you will include in the weaponry of the samurai a yari,it doesn't have to be upgradable just being there as an extra option like the warhamer in vanguards and still you can have all nagitas and more yari types in the warrior monk class.
Of course i know that you won't downgrade swords like katana since most want to play with them but it would be cool to have the option of a yari to.
Thank you for your time i know the mod will be awesome even if you don't include the yari in samurai class but it would be a fan add on.Please tell me what you think about it.
Cheers!!!

Hey, great info! I've heard similar things about the katanas/ wakizashis being more status symbols than weapons too.

Like you said, people want to play with these weapons despite bending the rules of historic accuracy, however we will certainly have a wide range of weapons. You name it, if they used it, we have it. We're still in the process of figuring out exactly what our class load-outs will be, but we have a rough idea.

Sorry it's a little vague since we're still working stuff like that out before we detail them on our 'db page, but hope that answers your question for now (please feel free to keep em coming)

Cheers!

Thanks Kieran88 for the reply!
Of course i understand you are figuring this stuff out and things might be a little vague you are in preAlpha state after all.
But i was very happy to learn that you are going to have a big variety of weaponry :)
And actually since samurai probably will have a little less pierce resistance from slash resistance like vanguards or knights in the original it will be closer to history .
I love medieval Japan thats why i have done some research and i stated even learning japanese. If i think of something else i will ask, especially now that i know how helpful and cool you are!
Cheers!

Thanks! It's possibly the perspective, I originally modeled it over a photograph to get the correct scale, it does look much much longer on a front-on view.

Description

So we've been working on some big things for Bushido lately, we mentioned previously that we licensed some new tools to improve our textures and so on. Since then I have been studying said tools and working on the best pipeline for our team to utilize them.

What these tools will allow us to do is, basically share material properties with each other, and rebuild them in a matter of minutes on almost any model/ shape. Obviously this will save us a lot of time in the long run.

This will also allow us to do some pretty interesting things when it comes to changing up colours and patterns, we can now do this in a very short amount of time instead of having to repaint entire models. Here is an example of one of the unlock-able Katanas, built with these new tools in real-time.
