Ninjas were originally peasants for you who didn't know. But yeah, they also dressed as them sometimes.
Apparently not. Guess I was too believing in pop-culture.
Ninjas irl were not assassins dressed in black, they were just agents. They dressed like normal people. Even samurai could be ninja.
It was a job, not a clan or a social status.
So this is not historical... but then again it's not trying to be
