Props for one of our fast-acting modelers, newman. You (rightfully) put some of us to shame.

No fire for the frakked... but the remnants of the Black Market look glorious from the outside.

The sturdy, civvy sixpack. When used properly, it becomes more than mere fleet fodder.

The new way to track your way and look around looks superior! Seems like a very intuitive way of flying and like being a great bonus to "real" Galactica flying style.
Only the reflections of explosions in the cockpit windows are a bit bright at time. Not meaning that explosions can't be bright, but this kinda fills the triangle windows with an overflow of yellow light. Can'T wait for a release with the Battlestar and perhaps a Basestar!

Great work, still amazed at how you are creating this entire game with such great ideas of your own and stay true to the series at the same time! Kudos!

The cockpit code is still quite new, will be more refined by the FSO coders with time.

Question: is the IR device attached to glasses as per the Johnny Lee vid or are you just pointing it around?

It looks great at first but I was thinking, if it's head-tracking and you look up, down, left, or right to the extremes pictured in the video, you'd essentially be looking away from the monitor.

And if the tracking simply exaggerates the in-game head-swiveling, it will be unintuitive and Über-annoying.

You're not fooling me! Back to the low-cost multi-touch Wiimote whiteboard with you!

Now, I don't have Track IR, and I like many other people have thought the exact same thing. But, then again lots of flight sim'ers swear by it as a very good tool to keep an eye on your surroundings.

Oh, it's a commercially available product?

...just checked the site's demo vid, it looks like it does simply exaggerate the in-game head-swiveling which seems to me it would be very annoying.

So close... oh well.

Dude if all your moving is your head then you can move it to the extremes shown in the vid and just use your peripheral vision to keep an eye on the monitor.

That's weird... I thought I left a comment on this pointing towards Naturalpoint's website.

Either way I recommend buying TrackIR, it's freaging' awesome. It's completely necessary if you play a lot of sims. And if I'm going to play BSG (which I plan on), then I think it'll be necessary then too :D.

hmm...

I downloaded the mod and I've got a graphics bug... Originally I intended to post it at your forums but I get a blank page when trying to register (what the hell...), so here it is:

Freeimagehost.eu

My system specs:
AMD Athlon 64 processor; 2,23 GHz; 2 gig RAM; plenty of free harddisk space
ATI Radeon X1300 card, 512 Mb memory; latest drivers

Yeah, registration of the forums is down for the moment, trying to get that fixed. I can't see your link, but I'll get one of the people "who know" to pm you here and try to get it fixed.
