Braid is a puzzle-platformer, drawn in a painterly style, where you can manipulate the flow of time in strange and unusual ways. From a house in the city, journey to a series of worlds and solve puzzles to rescue an abducted princess. In each world, you have a different power to affect the way time behaves, and it is time's strangeness that creates the puzzles.
In the beginning I'll list cons of the game. There is only one of them: its a bit too short.
The game is challenging, represents one of most unique ideas in games I've ever seen and has PERFECT audiovisual setting! Smart, beautiful and also teaching us a few important truths about life.
Thank you for creating Braid (and bringing it to Linux), guys.
Awesome artwork, gameplay. Quick to pick up, the puzzles are clever, fun, and really cool in exactly how they tie in the background with the on screen objects.
Sound/audio isn't mind blowing, but it fits the game rather well.
Game does an excellent job of alerting you to your character's capabilities without blatently giving away puzzles.
Fun, unique, and captivating.
Puzzles are refreshing and challenging. The idea of time manipulation - brilliant. The overall theme reminds of Mario nothing is directly ripped off or copied but it gives the game a slight hint of nostalgia.
Overall: this is a masterpiece, a mustplay for any gamer out there who is fond of interesting puzzles and enjoys a well-written story.
