I bought the game the other day because I noticed it was on sale and have been trying to play with my friend. He can get into my game but he is very choppy (which I don't mind -too- much). And every couple minutes the game either A) Crashes and asks me to send a report, B) He freezes and so do the objects on the level and the exits don't work, or C) he disconnects and the objects/exit doesn't work.

I tried searching the forums here for solutions but the only thing I found is a few posts about being aware of similar problems back in november and haven't seen much since then. I was hoping to encourage more of my friends to buy this and play it with me but it looks like support/development has stopped completely? Will there be fixes to any of this or should I just tell my friends to hold off for another game?

Not trying to be rude, just being realistic.

Thanks for the time if you read this.

Hi Gorshum, thanks for your post. We have received the crashreports and will be looking into it asap. The reason to this may be due to temporary timeouts between the host and the client, so make sure you do have a clean connection.

A temporary fix for this may be to play BTL over hamachi untill we have managed to resolve the issue.

Ahh I shall try that thank you for the response! Believe it or not Hamachi was our first go-to in trying to get it working but we were having trouble with it. The knowledge that it is still being worked on fills me with confidence and I will continue to happily recommend this to people because it is awesome <3.

Hey it's Gorshum again, I have tried the hamachi method and it somewhat worked. It was incredibly choppy (the other player was on each of our screens though we played fine) and the crashes took a little bit longer to happen than usual but they still occured. In about 12 minutes of gameplay we experienced 3 crashes (4 if you count the simultaneous one). I managed to record a couple of them for you and my friend recorded from his perspective too so you could see directly what was going on when we crashed. I hope these videos help you in finding the resolution to this problem.

Haha thank you so much for that, was both informational and hilarious :)

We are currently working on exchanging the whole network code to make it none-crashy and none slugish even with a bad connection.
A smaller patch should be up in a few days time, hopefully it will make it some what better. But rest assured that we are working on a fix.

That makes me very happy to know, I am definitely looking forward to being able to do this in coop.

When I had first heard about the game, I was looking all over youtube for Let's Plays (and google) to see if it was worth buying (and it is!) but NO ONE had done it. I was like "Whaaaat?", checked a month or two later, still nothing. So I was like "Fine, I will do it myself." So I'm recording it now (trying to finish the game before I upload a part just in case I get stuck for a long time). Hopefully if it kicks off that should bring in some more revenue for you guys and people to play with for me.

I'll warn ya now though if you ever watch it there are times where I get really -really- --really-- frustrated. You designed the game, I'm sure you know the feeling. It's like "I hate everyone, I hate this game, I hate myself, I hate that smiley block that comes out of nowhere and hitis me in the cat-testicles!" So I apologize about that in advance :P Take anything I say during those moments with like a 6 foot grain of salt.

Anyways I will try to keep you posted here on things, especially any feedback on how the new patch (when it comes) helps with my multiplayer experience.

Yeah, we have been struggling with publicity to say the least, but if all goes well there will hopefully be some big news coming soon (and with this, more active players in the lobby). Haha, looking forward to see that one, they are really entertaining to watch as a developer, especially when people gets frustrated, in the "right way" that is. but i do admit... the smileblocks are a bit evil :D

btw, check you inbox here at Desura if you haven't already (it's kinda hidden).
