Death Wish 1.3
Nov 23, 2011 Death Wish for Blood Full Version 0 commentsVersion 1.2 and Crispy patch combined with some other fixes here and there encountered by people who were doing recorded streams of their playthroughs.
You'll battle cultists, gargoyles, zombies, hellhounds, and an unholy host of other terrors in your quest to stop Tchernobog. You must not only defeat the Cabal--you must scour its dread name from human memory. If that means eradicating everyone and everything the Cabal has ever tainted, so be it.
Of course, you'll first have to make your way through fortresses, castles, mines, mansions, and estates guarded and kept by Tchernobog's malevolent servants. Fortunately, it is wits that make the hero, and although you're in serious danger of losing yours, you've got enough left to improvise some pretty effective tools of destruction. Aerosol hairspray can be frightening enough on its own, but apply it to a lighter flame and you've got an instant flamethrower (kids, don't try this at home!). Likewise, a flare gun can brighten your prospects considerably against even the grimmest odds, which is to say nothing for shotguns, Tommy guns, and dynamite. Who knows, you may even find that there are some spirits on your side when you find yourself clutching a voodoo doll.

Caleb will need to muster all his strength to take down the mighty Tchernobog,
who has managed to free himself from the grip of death.
It has been ages since our hero Caleb set out against the evil Cabal, and this may be his biggest challenge yet. Three complete episodes, complete with the elusive secret levels, await.
The journey begins in the mountains and quickly takes you to the unforgiving, icy north. From there you will traverse a plethora of varied environments from dry deserts to dank caves in pursuit of your longtime foe Tchernobog. Years have passed and the world has changed, but Tchernobog's burning desire for power has remained the same. With Tchernobog's new powers to aid him, will Caleb be able to defeat him once again before it's too late?

Source code is no longer required. Porting BLOOD to a 32-bit engine and adding smooth GL rendering would only kill the looks of this game. It's perfect just as it is, and DosBox runs it perfectly as it gets.
Seriously, when is somebody going to make a version of Blood that works with Windows XP? They made one for Duke Nukem 3D, so why not Blood? Blood is twice the game that Duke Nukem 3D is. Yes, I know about Transfusion, and at the rate it's being made it might as well never come out. That and the fact that it's a fully 3D remake of blood and doesn't look very good. All I want is the original game updated to work on XP instead of using some choppy DOS emulator to play it.
There is no Blood ports simply because the developers haven't released the source code of the game.
DosBox runs it, but it's slow.
The absolute best way to play it, even cryptic passsage (perhaps with the crack that fixes the segfault) is with Dosemu +Freedos. (dosemu comes with freedos. you could install real dos on dosemu, but somehow freedos works better for blood)
Freedos.org
Newest DosBox plays it perfectly, just set the core value to dynamic in the .conf file and you're game.
This game was brutal multiplayer because even the basic weapons could kill easily. Like the flare gun was great. Set em on fire and its all over
I always thought Blood was a mod for Skulltag. I've played through the entire campaign on Skulltag without knowing it was actually a real game XD
Squee, its good to see some good games being put up.
Memories....
Such a great game.
god damn did I used to LOVE this game.
This and Shadow Warrior.
"Lo Wang drop soap, you pick it up"
or
"You want to wash wang or watch wang wash wang"
hahahaha those were the days when Duke Nukem was king!
