Just dropping a small update this time. I haven't done that much this week.
I've been tweaking around rendering the "fog of war" in rooms. The shadows now grow and disappear gradually as an effect of doors being opened and closed gradually. I have done this so that it will be possible to open doors just enough to tuck grenades through, without exposing oneself completely to suspects in the room on the other side.
The other thing is bullet decals. These will now appear when bullets hit the floor and ceiling, and I've also made a new particle emitter for these hits (yes - there's not nearly enough particles in this game yet!).
I also made some progress on the walking animations. That's really positive since the walking animations are the biggest thing stopping me from adding the player character. I hope to make more progress on this until the next time. Next time will not be next week because I'm going to be busy with other things.
Thank you all for all feedback ‐ it really keeps me going!
Great work! :D!
Keep it up man. I love playing the tech demo stuff.
Looks great.
wow Unexpectedly

Thanks all!
aha, bullit decals! and a particle smoke puff when something is hit, (did ask about this last time and now it is added, ofcourse not because i asked but just because you came around doing it now).
although i have to be honest and say that the decal and particle smoke puff is rather small, personaly i wouldn't mind if the smoke puff on inpackt would be a littlebit bigger, it is still a bit hard to see. but this also could just come because i see it now on the movie, maybe when played by myself it can be seen better.
and i can imagen that a walking animation is quit hard to make, when you want to make it well. seems there the time has come that you now have to get in to making this, delaying it is probably not a option anymore. this game gets better and better!!
and just take your time, good things take time to make. and, even game and mod developers have a real life beside there development work, lol.
we can't develop 24/7, even when we would like to do so. (i make mods for many years so i know a bit about how much time and effort these things take, and how much we get absorbed about the development, haha.
success,
Leon
What you say is true. :) And then sometimes when you have the time you don't find the flow..!
Actually there's no smoke puff at the impact. Your mind made that up lol. I think it will be nice to add that, so that's on the list now. I came around adding the decals because you reminded me. ;)
Thanks again for encouragement and feedback!
