You assume the role of team leader in the tactical response team of a major city police force. Your work is to plan and carry out tactical entry in barricade and hostage situations with least possible loss of life the desired outcome.
This is one of possibly several new or re-designed weapons that will be in the next demo. Iosif here on indie db has made these new graphics for me, and very well I have to say! Many thanks to him. The large image that is cut in shows it bigger than it will be during normal rendering in-game, but it shows the amount of detail that has been put in. At the same time I've re-written code so that there can be more optional parts on the weapons: here on the M4 a front grip and different sights aside from the suppressor. The animations have also been changed to give higher fidelity to moving parts on the weapons (especially noticeable in slow motion).
AMAZING WORK!
This is the probably best 2D Sideview M4 that I've ever seen, respect to you bro.
I like it too!
Looks great!
Excellent work!!
Yeah it looks great dev. It's cool watching this game come together very nicely.
Thank you all. Again, I did not make these weapon graphics. Iosif did so praise him :) He's done a really good job and I hope he will be able to do more weapons for the game. Also coming up is the other side view of all weapons. Up until now they have just been mirrored.
i just noticed this is from "pimp my gun" (http://pimpmygun.doctornoob.com/app.php) the m4 there looks exactly the same and the frontgrip is also a part there, no offense but i dont know is this is good
Ouch! I'm at work now but I'll need to look closer at this. Thanks for pointing it out.
He has used Pimp my gun for reference material for some of the parts. Also the process used is the same as that behind the parts on pimp my gun. Given that and the level of detail they look similar (very close to the real thing!).
I think Iosif can elaborate... :)
Sup mate. As Isbeorn said, I did use the site for reference. The thing is, I manually vectorize and draw the guns while looking at several images to make them as detailed and close to the real thing as possible. That site you mention uses vectors or something very similar to vectors(though they used a different technique than me) so even if I didn't know the site, the result would still look almost the same. The differences are too small to see on the game and/or just not that many (the dust cover and bolt mechanism are the main differences in this one image). I assure you though that I'm not blatantly copying the site (And I can prove it, with the texture that has the other side of the M4, feature not present in pimpmygun, as well as my original Corel Draw save, in which I can literally take my M4A1 vector appart box by box and shape by shape to prove that I drew and manually vectorized that, and did not use any auto-vector site/app or just copied and pasted the doctornoob image on the texture file for the game).
At the end of the day they're supposed to look the same anyway, since both my gun and pimpmygun's are trying to imitate the real thing, the same model of the same gun, so they actually have to look almost the same. The same goes for the grips and sights.
Plus I'll be doing a lot of different grips, sights and handguns, so expect to see more.
Amazing texture :D
