The on-going space voxel project by the six sibling studio, ZanMgt! A labor of love, Blockade Runner is an ever-evolving development that's currently undergoing a major engine overhaul to provide a solid foundation for the game's bi-weekly builds. We've found the bi-weekly builds to be an enjoyable and healthy development cycle and are anxiously preparing the game for their return!
Entities will now have atmosphere blocks (tentatively called "So2 Terraformers") placed down to increase the atmosphere around an entity!
Does this mean that we may be seeing uses for mining and 'dropships' soon? :D

Something seemed a bit out of place to me after glancing at this image.
It's Minecraft. I know it's Blockade Runner, but you show that picture to 99% of the internet and that's what they would say.
I cannot stress enough the importance of distinguishing your product from the "Minecraft Clones" category. _I_ know there is a lot more to Blockade Runner than that, but you need to make sure your art style and 'press releases' convey that as well.
I reluctantly have to agree, but it's only due to the fact that the grass looks like MC's. Once people leave the atmosphere in their own ship for the vacuum of space, it'll shut the "it's a MC clone" people up pretty thoroughly.
I certainly understand, and we're considering more "alien" and less immediately rip-off identifiable texture sets for the terraformed asteroids.
In the future our angles system should do away with the tell-tale "caking" that occurs in a Minecraft clone, it's just a question of development priority to utilize said system.
Dirt? Grass?! Blue gem things??!! A SKY??!! Man, I love it when we don't hear from you guys for about a week!
Asking for us to stay away now are ya. ;P
Sweeeet.
Will the spaceship gravity rules apply planet side? I feel it might be hard to tell what part of the mountain is the side if you can just walk right up it.
Gravity boots will not work when gravity is already present.
will there be gravity? like it pulls the ship if u get too close?
Every entity has a specific mass that we can easily plug into, so yeah. It's a question of when it gets irritating to deal with as the player though. =)
You might want to take a look at Shores of Hazeron and how they deal with planets and space ships there. The ships all use special gravity defying drives but the material you need to make those drives only appears on planets with thin/no atmosphere so you have to build a very gravity vulnerable rocket in order to land on the nearest moon and set up a base. Course I wouldn't suggest you copy SoH completely, but it's got some good ideas and a somewhat similar premise though much more multiplayer focused.
Also, OMG SWEEEEET!
