After an intense month of hacking and working hard on it, we have released version 5.0 of Block Story.
The changelog is ridiculously big. We have incorporated suggestions from our desura customers, as well as from other sources.
We went through 7 beta tests to make sure we delivered a quality product that you will enjoy. Easily, this is our largest release ever.

Major features include Creative Mode, Teleporting, a Radar, speed improvements and separate chests.

Enjoy the fruit of our labor, we have put our heart into it.

New Features

  • The terrain loads 100% faster
  • Placing and digging reacts instantly now, no more lag when building
  • Radar as seen in this video
  • Creative mode, now you have infinite supplies in creative mode
  • Teleportation to beds
  • New Quests for Radar
  • Quests now teach you recipes as rewards
  • Trident of Poseidon
  • Chests are separate now as seen here Warning: get your valuables out of the chests before updating
  • Removed gravity when flying in creative
  • Creative mode indicator in the main menu
  • Different blocks break at different speed
  • Different blocks make different sounds when you walk on them
  • Different blocks make different sounds wfhen you dig them
  • Now you can see how much damage you inflict on mobs
  • Inter-world teleporting
  • Dramatically better graphics by using mipmaps (ios, mac and pc)
  • Head bobbing can be turned off
  • PC and mac controls can be changed
  • Now you can adjust Field of view

  • new settings for pc control
  • Added lots of sound effects
  • Monsters in creative mode
  • new recipe for teleporter

  • new shader that is faster in mobile to give you some extra frames per second
  • the mouse wheel now switches between items
  • Random names for NPCs

  • Improved animation of hand tools
  • Mass crafting, because clicking 500 times the crafting table really stinks.
  • Fixed multitouch splitting. Tap and hold a stack, then with a second finger, tap an empty slot to transfer half your stack.
  • Left mouse button uses blocks or digs them instead of placing (PC only)
  • An easter egg that has to do with light, that is very cool.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed issue where placing models particularly on frozen sea would not show
  • Fixed picking up model items that would not stack in the inventory
  • Fixed archery issue, where sometimes you would not hit a mob
  • Fixed issue where big monsters could spawn half buried
  • Fixed fog color underground
  • Fixed dragon shield
  • Fixed issue that caused items to disappear from the inventory when dragged over them.
  • Fixed bug that caused multiple slots to be selected in he crafting table
  • Fixed Hugo quest
  • Many small fixes

bad luck that you found such steep terrain up there, most of the sky is just like regular ground, with different biomes. But you found the important minerals.

@ds39uuca the other side of the coin is that there are a lot of reviews with 1 from people that have never tried the game (pretty much all of them).

My guess about the people agreeing with the good reviews is that we do have quite a number of fans, especially after the free app of the day promotion in amazon. We have been updating very regularly, and a lot of people have been following the game closely. Plus I also interact directly with users, which helps have a good opinion of us.

To the best of our ability, we have addressed the issues that people have reported here. We released in dec 10 here, and we are about to release the 3rd update here. We are adding a lot of features, see this for the next version:

I assure you not a single review is doctored or paid for by us. These are actual users that enjoy the game. You can see we have good reviews in other stores like google play as well. You can also search for independent review sites, they also like the game quite a bit. But of course not everyone likes it.

exploring is becoming creative. You don't die, have infinite mana, but you don't level up, and in the next version you will have infinite supply.

story is survival mode, the default.

This game is just stunning its visuals. First few minutes that i played this game i was utterly impressed. This game may have a tiny things that are similar to minecraft ,but has excesscive things that minecraft doesnt have. Man i just got to give thanks to the developer for making this game he is a indie developer 0_0. I do not see how someone can spend so much time making a game that's 100% inspired by Minecraft, or more likely, the lack of adventuring/RPGing in Minecraft. This game clearly tries to fill that role Minecraft neglected, yet it doesn't make it any better. Leveling system is - to be frank - akin to that of Minecrafts, quite boring and lackluster (basically you just get +1 damage, +0.05 movement speed, +0.1 digging speed etc.). I could kind of let that slip if the game made any progress on the combat…
