Blaze is a sci-fi first person shooter action game using a modified Chocolate-Doom engine. It's about shooting a lot of aliens, mutants and whatever else there might be.
Well, I did animate the Imp. Rushed some of the animations, as I wanted to proceed into testing how they look ingame.
Unfortunately highres sprite rendering is kinda off in Doomsday currently. Hopefully fixed sometime. Models work fine. Idea is that more distant objects can be rendered as sprites, which could be useful in levels that have lots of monsters. Models can also use 4 levels of detail, so more distant objects can be rendered with less polygons.
But having lots of highres sprites, might be a bad idea, they need more HDD space, and probably use more memory when loaded in the game.
The highres sprites for this one character used 23MB.
The lowres sprites used 345KB, but they looked kinda crap.
The model and one texture used just a bit over 1MB. Maybe if it had some damage textures, it might be somewhere around 5-8MB.
