So I've made two monster models, semi-finished one of them.. the Imp. The other monster I made was the Arch-Vile. Initially I didn't intend to make them so close to the original sprites, but they're quite close to them. I may change the models if I get some ideas to make them a bit more different.
The video demonstrates the Imp animations and how Doomsday Engine's model/sprite distance feature works. It is intended to render more distant objects as sprites, which could be useful if there are lots of monsters visible in the screen. Unfortunately there was some bug with high resolution sprite rendering.. and the low resolution sprites are more like place holders.
The level in the video is just some simple level made for testing the Imps. Guess which Doom II level gave me the inspiration for it?
