Blaze is a retro/minimalistic styled sci-fi first person flight/shooter action game. The game can be played almost single handedly with just mouse. It's about shooting a lot of alien things (in semi-randomized missions?). The alien things are trying capture all your base, and have already captured at least half of it. You have to defend the base and capture the alien controlled areas back. Or something like that...
Some more weapon models. Redid the Plasma Gun and made 2 new ones. These make the total weapon count 10.
These weapons are:
Minigun - Plasma Gun
Fire Blaster
Note: the Plasma Gun isn't really that big. Just the camera angle/etc is a bit funky. The Fire Blaster is bigger...
Next week I'm going to be trying the weapons ingame with some temp textures. Maybe it's also a time for a new video then...
Nice! There are so many good shapes. And I like how you keep to a theme, like big blocky batteries for the Rail and Plasmaguns. I can recognize which rifle class it is, because of them durn good shapes! Heheh
And good luck with that Update. Would that be in Unreal 4 or still UDK? U4 is quite worth it, I can tell you. I like the new materials in U4. IT's especially good for metal and such now.
The "battery" for the Railgun is meant to be the magazine containing the slugs. Maybe it also contains some battery/charge. I wanted it to be longer.. but one pose on player "must" work on all weapons.
Previously I was using DarkPlaces and (a little bit) Doomsday engines. I've been thinking I'd make the game on DarkPlaces, and then make some model/resource pack for Doomsday.
For the moment I've been quite ok with bump maps "created" from the base textures during playing, and simple specular on everything. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so well.. :P
Skin these bad boys - they all look wicked deadly.
Eventually :)
But for some time they will look like my earlier "AO+Color" style...
