Blaze is a retro/minimalistic styled sci-fi first person flight/shooter action game. The game can be played almost single handedly with just mouse. It's about shooting a lot of alien things (in semi-randomized missions?). The alien things are trying capture all your base, and have already captured at least half of it. You have to defend the base and capture the alien controlled areas back. Or something like that...
This is the player!
712 tris. 256x128 texture (no overlapping parts, so there will be unique blood splats on different sides when player is damaged).
So it was changed a bit. Merged all arm and leg elements together, but let them be separate from the torso to make animating easier. Scaled it to fit into a 56 unit tall hitbox, which made it a bit squashed.
I've also modelled jet/jumppack that could go to the back.. I was thinking the special powers would show in first person at the top/sides of the screen, just to display something for player..
now that looks awesome!
With magnificent armor such as that those lava tunnels shouldn't be a problem... right?..RIGHT?
Maybe slime/acid could do 4 damage/second, and lava could do 8 or 12 damage/second. The basic shield could protect 40% of the damage. If player has 100health and 100shield.. He would last 41 seconds in slime, and next hit would kill. He would last 20 or 13 seconds in lava, and next hit would kill.
Health could be understood as a combination of the character's physical condition and the armor integrity/condition. The shield is then some energy force field type of thing (but works pretty much like armor in games). Though I suppose I could have all 3 separate, but then the energy would only work as a shield when player has the shield power.
