BioShock is a shooter unlike any you've ever played, loaded with weapons and tactics never seen. You'll have a complete arsenal at your disposal from simple revolvers to grenade launchers and chemical throwers, but you'll also be forced to genetically modify your DNA to create an even more deadly weapon: you. Injectable plasmids give you super human powers: blast electrical currents into water to electrocute multiple enemies, or freeze them solid and obliterate them with the swing of a wrench.

Bioshock Day is coming!

Bioshock Day was born last year on July 28th, when me and my best bro decided to play through Bioshock since he hadn't played it yet. So he came over to my house, and we played the entire day.

Basically all you got to do is play it on any system be it, PC, Xbox 360, or Ps3, put it on and play! Choose to play through it leisurely, and slow; or jam through the game as fast as you can; it doesn't matter. Or even get a bunch of friends together to show them the awesome story that is Bioshock!

So on July 28th get ready to Bioshock!

some one has got to make a ZOMBIE MOD for this game. Its perfect, all you gotta do is give them a knife instead of their weapons. The environments are perfect, you don't even have to make new maps!!
You just have to find a way to move the fridge and stuff to make barricades like in CSS zombie mod, it will be GREAT!

Have you ever considered that your little comment is SO STUPID! Why the hell do you want to make this awesome game into some boring Gin and Run game with boring zombies. Counterstrike is a bitch

Ok, first off I have to say that I think this is a 'good' game, but all the people banging on about how original the story is, how deep the gameplay is, and how much replay value it has must have played a different game to me.

The game is totally linear (there's even an arrow to show you where to go all the time). The story is 'ok', but pretty much a copy of System Shock 2 and gets stupid towards the end. While the graphics, sound and atmosphere are generally excellent, the level design is mediocre and linear. It's too easy, and hacking is too frequent and boring. The AI is bad but dressed-up with good animation. The 'moral choice' aspect has no effect whatsoever on gameplay, you just get a 'good' or 'bad' ending (no middle-ground there). Most of the plasmids do the same thing, and the only interesting weapons are useless 95% of the time etc. etc.

Has no-one ever played Deus Ex, Stalker, System Shock or any of the other games that came way before this "innovative" title?

It is truely an awesome game, cutting edge technology meets possibly one of the greatest storylines in the history of game ideas.

It's a shame there isn't a map editor or an SDK for Bioshock, but I guess we can still use UT3 as a basis for our modifications.

Overall the game was amazing, it's a shame the ending was rather easy compared to the other parts of the game.

I mean, who doesn't like huge rusty creatures known as nothing but Mr.Bubbles or Big Daddy, who accompany little girls through an underwater world where everything possible will attack them.

Poorly versed in the ways of the RPG, I see. Try these on for size:

Planescape: Torment

Fallout 1&2

"One of the greatest storylines in the history of games." Play them and see if Bioshock stands up to these titans game writing.

Are you comparing RPGs' storylines with an FPS one?

Kind of funny when you say it has greatest storyline in the history of games, when its a bad copy of the system shock 2 story only set in the 1930ish

this game isn't a copy of system shock- i't's its "spiritual successor" as quoted by 2K games. basically, same gameplay, new story, shiny new eye candy. of course it's better.

Naburus Dec 27 2008 replied:

the basis of the story is pretty similar to at least systemshock2, you are lead on by a character that you assumed is an ally but nearing the finale parts of the game you where just being manipulated by main antagonist posing as someone else.. something like that, so the change is pretty much the setting, and instead of nodes you get adam or whatever. lol

What can I say baout Bioshock that has not already been said before. This is a new ball park in fps, cerebral and introspective, it captures not only the Randian ideal of Objectivism in beautiful counterpoint to 'Atlas Shrugged' but the underlying nature of the role of the gamer itself. The lush decay of the city of Rapture provide the player with a new and intersting environment of which one has very real choice to mould and shape, whether in hacking the various machinery placed around or using…
