After your plane crashes into icy uncharted waters, you discover a rusted bathysphere and descend into Rapture, a city hidden beneath the sea. Constructed as an idealistic society for a hand picked group of scientists, artists and industrialists, the idealism is no more. Now the city is littered with corpses, wildly powerful guardians roam the corridors as little girls loot the dead, and genetically mutated citizens ambush you at every turn.

Features:

  • Take control of your world by hacking mechanical devices, commandeering security turrets and crafting unique items critical to your very survival.
  • Upgrade your weapons with ionic gels, explosives and toxins to customize them to the enemy and environment.
  • Genetically modify your body through dozens of Plasmid Stations scattered throughout the city, empowering you with fantastic and often grotesque abilities.
  • Explore a living world powered by Ecological A.I., where the inhabitants have interesting and consequential relationships with one another that impact your gameplay experience.
  • Experience truly next generation graphics that vividly illustrate the forlorn art deco city, highlighted by the most detailed and realistic water effects ever developed in a video game.
  • Make meaningful choices and mature decisions, ultimately culminating in the grand question: do you exploit the innocent survivors of Rapture...or save them?

It's a nice game!, but what bugs me is
that the reincarnation chambers really ruin the experiance.
Feels more like a casual walk through the park, instead of a fight
for survival.

I ran this game on 640x480 with everything on high on my PC with a fairly consistent 15-40 fps. My PC is pretty out of date now too (AMD 3000+ 6600GT and 1 Gig of RAM) so I was pretty happy with how amazing it looked and played, even if I had to go well below the resolution I wanted.

The actual game was absolutely epic! This is the first game I've played that actually made me hesitate to kill someone trying to kill me because I felt sorry for them. Bioshock is amazing at playing with your emotions and creeping you out. Having said that, games almost never creep me out and never scare me except with the typical BOO-THERES-A-BAD-GUY-BEHIND-YOU type of scares.

Its a good game, but not as much variation in gameplay as they lead you to believe. But still a good game. If they never release a editor I hope someone manages to create one :P

As far as system reqs, I meet min system specs. ( Little over in some spots, little under in others, but for the most part, min system specs ) I can run with highest settings surprisingly. However I do not have windows vista, but besides that, everything is on max settings. It runs just fine, maybe once during the whole game it lagged, for a short time. Sometimes my comp took a few seconds to fully load the textures though so things looked a bit odd at first...

Despite of the "Bioshock editor" picture that most of us have seen in the game files, the official word from 2k (2K Elizabeth in the official 2k forums) is

Quote:
there won't be an editor released for BioShock. one was never planned.

Worst Bioshock news, ever, imho.
