Tells the story of a young boy called Robert who is the sole survivor of a plane crash in "the Gap". Too young to fend for himself, Robert is adopted by a local group of Indigenous Australians, who teach him the skills he needs to survive in this harsh new environment...
Yes, this game is a bit of an oldie, but it's one of the most perfect point-and-click adventures I've ever played. A few points of trial-and-error that involve trying objects at random was a bit frustrating, but overall it's a solid, well-done game. It simply needs to be experienced by everyone, if not for its gameplay then for its humor. Robert's smart-mouthed robotic companion Joey was easily my favorite character.
I love this game! I even have this game on my iphone because it is so epic. It is a good adventure and puzzle game that definitely has some scary aspects. The futuristic setting where human lives aren't worth much makes this soooo dangerous but interesting!
I'm definitely biased, being a hard-core adventure gamer, but Steel Sky may well be one of the best games ever made. If not that, then the best dystopian adventure game at least. How well it holds up is highly dependant on nostalgia (and without nostalgia... well, then patience and a dark sense of humor).
