The Battlefield franchise enters a new era equipped with more firepower, modernized weaponry and vehicles, and a deeper infantry experience from the jungles to the beaches of Vietnam. From villages on the Ho Chi Minh Trail to the city streets of Hue wage modern warfare as the United States or North Vietnamese Army (NVA). Select from a variety of characters within the different soldier classes as you command powerful new vehicles including attack and transport helicopters, the M551 Sheridan tank, and the F-4 Phantom fighter jet on the U.S. side and the Russian-made T-54 tank, the MIG-21, and Mi-8 multipurpose helicopter on the NVA side.
Go to war in new dramatic battle scenarios including leading a squadron of helicopters in an all-out attack on an enemy compound, executing an ambush of enemy soldiers from dense foliage, captaining a PT boat through a dangerous jungle river passage, and more. Grab your M-16, ready the Napalm, and prepare to enter some of the fiercest battles of the Vietnam War.

Oops, we did it again. 5 years after our last release we have a new - full - version: 0.16! EoD v0.16 has SP/COOP for all maps and two new levels:
- Camp Caroll
- Que Son Valley
- both converted from EoD-BF42.
Also some bugs have been fixed so there should be no more game crashes. To play the game you need Battlefield:Vietnam v1.21

Nothin like listening to great music while cruisin down the battlefield in a jeep and do a little hit and run on those vietnamese bastards!
this game is fully sic yelair and desert combat is mc **** so every other game can suck monkey balls and **** out beef burgers. p.s vietnam rules
This game use the same engine BF but updated a bit graphically... also have new menus (duh!), and small gameplay features (fire from passenger) and gamemodes (duh!).
So its not really a REAL new game, but a updated Battlefield 1942. Its sad that this will leech some gamers from the BF scene, and will divide efforts :(,.. but most people will slowly swich from BF to BFV. I think...
Whats is bad about BFV is too litte maps, and all maps where about jungle, jungle, and ...jungle (and a bit of citys+jungle), so Its a bit boring. I like the sound athmosfera, but BF is better has have desert, citys, ice, etc... more variations. And BF have better mods, Desert Combat,.. I think will be hard to see Desert Combat at BFV, has will be need to move all textures, all maps, prettty everything...
Actually people at Quake1 play DM4 soo much as people at BF play Gazalla and El Allamein. Two really cool maps. Balaced maps, you can play both with tanks-centrics games, or with aircraft-centric games.
So... wellcome BFV, sad that BFV is not come compatible like Road To Rome :(

read the battlefield vietnam previews. this game will have the same gameplay as battlefield 1942 but vietnam will promise more maps, better graphics, many more weapons and viehicles, and some other fancy stuff (like radios that plays '70's music)
