In Battlefield 2, you are a part of a major conflict between the United States, China and fictious Middle East Coalition. You are armed with modern weaponry (different for every side of conflict) and additional equipment. Player can drive any of 30 vechicles that are implemented ingame - such as tanks, helicopters, hovercrafts, fighter jets and more. The game engine holds about 100 players on one server. In-game reward system makes players increase their ranks, starting from recruit, and unlock new weaponry, equipment and more. The environement will be fully destructible (including material penetration feature), and the gamers will fight in different areas, from cities to forests.

I got:
AMD Sempron 64 bit 2800+
Nvidia GeForce FX 5600 - 256mb
512mb RAM
Windows XP Home
5.1 Creative Surround - EAX
BT Broadband 2.2 meg
I can play with bots fine, I get no lag whatsoever and can play quite happily on medium graphics settings. However, I get large amounts of lag when I play online, even when it is just me and a friend having a dogfight. Stopping all unneeded processes helps a small amount (loads quicker) but does nothing for my lag. Does anyone know what my problem is, and/or what I could do?

I have it on medium with 3.0Ghz, 1024 RAM, 250 GB HD, Geforce 6200 TC 256 MB AGP
It lags a lil bit in the first, just like specialist said. That is because the game needs to load the environment, although i don't understand that it doesnt keeps the information from the previous game..
