About Battlefield 2 HARDCORE with 3 comments by Reanimator[UA] on Apr 30th, 2015

Hello friends! It's been pretty while since the last update of Battlefield 2 HARDCORE, so I decided to finally release new version of the mod. This update contains many balance improvements, enhanced effects, some fixes and finally (as I promised) new content from a booster pack.

So let's look closer what changes this new version brings.

  • Changes made to machine guns on Tunguska and PGZ-95 to make them more balanced compared to aircrafts.
  • Added zoom to stationary AT weapons (C key by default) and APC firing ports (right mouse button).
  • Simrad now works correclty and can light up targets for jets.
  • Fixed local messages issue.
  • Machine guns with explosive rounds were added to Mi-17 and Z-8 transport helicopters for better balance with Black Hawk.
  • Improved spotting system — "fake" spot is not possible now.
  • Heavy jeeps now take damage from .50 caliber machine guns.
  • Fixed texture for engineer's icon on minimap.
  • Hitmarker texture is perfectly centered on the screen.
  • Prevented use of missile bug on jets (called "No lock), which provided 100% chance of hitting aircrafts (video about bug).
  • Slightly increased armor level of boats, so now they can survive tank shell or Eryx/SRAW missile hit (which however deals critical damage to them).
  • Added support for vehicles from "Armoured Fury" booster pack (A10, Su39, WZ11, EC635, Littlebird, Fantan Q-5 and two civilian cars).
  • Enhanced visual effects of bullet hits, explosions, missile trails, muzzle flashes.

I am also going to add one cool map very soon, so stay tuned! ;) And be sure to check out our servers!

P.S.: I belive this update with all it's changes is one more step, which moves us closer to perfect BF2. And I also hope that with all our love and support this game will live and bring fun for many years!

And finally, for your entertainment, here is a couple of beautiful screenshots from BF2 HARDCORE (all clickable). Some of you may have already seen them (since I've uploaded them yesterday), but for most of you they should be new I guess ;)

Hello modders and players.

I recently ran into an older mod that is not actively being developed any more (too bad) called "The Wookie Sniper Mod". In the second to last version it was released (1.15 or something like that), they created a customized kit system for in-game choosing of weapons and equipment for the kits using the mod python script and a list of the roughly 150 or so kit possibilities (they had to define every possible combination). My question is for the modders: is there an easier way to create a custom kit system? And what other limitations are there to using this system other than the sure enormous amounts of kits the modders would have to make when they increase the potabilities?

And for the players: would any one be interested in playing a mod where you could customize your weapons and equipment in the kits?

I think that the wookie mod is still being worked on by the creator, but that he is too busy to finish it. I'm afraid that the only way to customize your kit like in the wookie mod, is to make all of the different kit combinations and load them in your map. Don't worry, it should be fairly simple to make a program that wil automatically make all of the kit combinations :D

Guys why this game is so high demanding in hardware?

I have a Pentium D 2.80 Ghz, graphic card Ati Radeon 4670 1 Gb Ram and 3 Gb of Ram in the motherboard.

But without lowering the settings is unplayable.

The game. With battlefield vanilla I can play only at the lowest settings.

With mods is completely unplayable because the game runs jerky.

And I completely surpassed the hardware requirements and I play only in single.

Oh. My PC's specs:
Processor: Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 Ghz
RAM: 2Gb Corsair
Videocard: GeForce 8800 GT 512Mb
OS: WinXP SP3
BF2 plays smoothly, with all the settings maxed out. You could try updating your videocard drivers, reinstalling BF2(just to be safe), and running an antivirus scanner to clean your PC of lag-inducing malware. What OS are you using?

Well, then you shouldn't have any problems with BF2's performance. Try using the tips I've given, and defrag your hard drive. Good luck.
