About Alpha Project with 18 comments by JONES™ on Jan 7th, 2015

Hello Alpha Project Community!

Yes, you were reading right guys, our mod is back in business, including a new fullblown ONLINE SUPPORT featured by 762 Ranking

This is including a new hosting service launched by a external executable which will let you create a completley NEW ACCOUNT specificly for our mod.

With this i want to say many thanks to =DGC=Neo82 who helped us making all this possible, this new system will be running specifly for one 100 PLAYER SERVER located in germany only for now and will also include CUSTOM RANKING which can be browsed -> HERE <-

You can check it out already right now and dont have to wait for the patch to create your account and test it out, just download the following exeutable and follow the instructions!

We cant wait to see you on the battlefield soldiers! Happy fragging!

  • simply copy the executable on your desktop and run it with administrator rights, get sure your firewall doesnt block it, otherwise it wont work!
  • Now select Alpha Project in the drop down menu and press start, it should automaticly find your installation and download the nessesary files into its root directory, after the update is done (there should only be a short popup) just press start again and it should launch the game...
  • When ingame, simply create a new account with the nickname of your choice and jump into the multplayer tab to join the one and only server available in the list!

In case you expereince black flickering artifacts ingame, close down the game again, launch the BF2ModLauncher.exe and press "Fix Shaders" button and start the game again, then everything should be fine!

Download this and put it directly into the battlefield 2 folder, not the mod folder, the main battlefield 2 directory where the bf2.exe is in:
After this, run the modlauncher again and it should work now!

Hello modders and players.

I recently ran into an older mod that is not actively being developed any more (too bad) called "The Wookie Sniper Mod". In the second to last version it was released (1.15 or something like that), they created a customized kit system for in-game choosing of weapons and equipment for the kits using the mod python script and a list of the roughly 150 or so kit possibilities (they had to define every possible combination). My question is for the modders: is there an easier way to create a custom kit system? And what other limitations are there to using this system other than the sure enormous amounts of kits the modders would have to make when they increase the potabilities?

And for the players: would any one be interested in playing a mod where you could customize your weapons and equipment in the kits?

I think that the wookie mod is still being worked on by the creator, but that he is too busy to finish it. I'm afraid that the only way to customize your kit like in the wookie mod, is to make all of the different kit combinations and load them in your map. Don't worry, it should be fairly simple to make a program that wil automatically make all of the kit combinations :D

Guys why this game is so high demanding in hardware?

I have a Pentium D 2.80 Ghz, graphic card Ati Radeon 4670 1 Gb Ram and 3 Gb of Ram in the motherboard.

But without lowering the settings is unplayable.

The game. With battlefield vanilla I can play only at the lowest settings.

With mods is completely unplayable because the game runs jerky.

And I completely surpassed the hardware requirements and I play only in single.

Oh. My PC's specs:
Processor: Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 Ghz
RAM: 2Gb Corsair
Videocard: GeForce 8800 GT 512Mb
BF2 plays smoothly, with all the settings maxed out. You could try updating your videocard drivers, reinstalling BF2(just to be safe), and running an antivirus scanner to clean your PC of lag-inducing malware. What OS are you using?

Well, then you shouldn't have any problems with BF2's performance. Try using the tips I've given, and defrag your hard drive. Good luck.
