Battlefield: High Definition is a modification for Battlefield 1942. The goal of the mod is to bring as many visual enhancements to the game as possible. Battlefield: High Definition was developed and tested by Lieutenant Clone (Dennis Robinson) of Beach Assault Studios. The modification brings the following enhancements to Battlefield 1942: Drastically increased view distances Increased the rendering quality of the terrain Increased the rendering distance of most vehicles Most vehicles will stay on the map permanently when destroyed Dead bodies remain for five minutes (you will rarely see them dissapearing) Added blood effects Added third person view Many more minor tweaks

The execuable for BFHD is corrupt - on 3 all servers, as well as on the 2 servers on their website. "Cannot read executable" error when trying to install. Total bummer!!
I take that back - the files are good, just that my puter had a glitch - I'm an idiot!

Can it play on dlc's like road to rome and secret weapons? if it can i will post expansion packs of secret weapons of ww2 dlc and road to rome in the mods list so everyone can have it to play with the hd bf1942 with great features i would be appreciated:

Finally i can enjoy good old Bf1942 and this has breathed life into it
When i start a game with this mod it jumps out to Windows while still loading. Im sure it's my PC. Has anybody got any advice? I REALLY want to use this mod.
Try re-installing, that will defiantly happen if it is not installed properly.

You can try running vanilla battlefield, then launching the mod from within the game.
Thanks so much for this mod! You have brought my all-time favorite game back to life! I particularly love the blood effects, permanent vehicle wreckage and 5 minute bodies. Those are things I always dreamed of having in BF42. All I need now is destroyable buildings, gibbing and blood stains on the terrain. The increased view distance is wonderful too but sometimes it makes the map seem smaller.
PLEASE tell me how to add the 5 minute bodies, blood effects and permanent wreckage to other BF42, RtR, SWWW2 and other maps, or is there a way to alter the game itself so that all maps have these effects? I am finding it very hard to play some of my other favorite maps without them!

I've been looking on how to get this running in 1920 x 1080 but nothing's working and I thought this mod may have added some support for it. Unless I am missing something? If anyone could help me then that would be great :). Thanks.
Do you have to patch the vainilla version of origin to 1.6 or is it ok without the patch?

hello, the installer didnt recognize the game as installed even though i chose the right directory for installing the mod. the game just crashes back to the desktop when i try to start a match. reinstalled a few times but no luck.any help please? my game's version is 1.5 i believe
maybe try making your bf1942 to patch to 1.61b maybe idk cuz im having a problem with forgotten honor mod when i try to load a map it crashed

It works but i cannot start a map, it logged me out and screen went huge. Did i install it wrong ?

Always Crashes to Desktop at start a match. This happend at the beginning of the (Old War Pics - HD Mod) Loading Screen. There is no warning massage than, Normaly the game runs perfectly without Mod on my
- Win7 Laptop - Admin running is on... same problem, Compatibility Mode 98 worked, but with to bad graphics.... from 2000 - XP sp3 no Mode worked!
