The best open-source and free game out there and also the best turn-based fantasy strategy game!

This game had a very good theme like kingdom and fantasy creature. The balance of the game is good and it has intriguing storyline. Good game to throw away your spare time ^_^

Great job on this game! Lots of fun. Very nice to look at and runs great even on my crummy old laptop.

I love TBS games and not many of them, even the ones you pay for, come close to this.

Wesnoth is an incredible strategy game with great production values in graphics and music, especially considering it's an open-source project. Some of the built-in campaigns are really top-notch. Multiplayer is also a lot of fun. Modding possibilities are, in a word, fascinating.

The only minor flaws are really in the difficulty levels and balancing. Newbies should experience tons of frustration. Despite all of its great sides, there's just *something* minor lacking in it that would keep me glued to it.

Still, I'd definitely say it's an unmissable game that everyone should try.

Best open source turn-based strategy, even better than Freeciv!

It has numerous tough campaigns, and well-balanced forces.
