Synaptic is a side-scroller platform game about a praying mantis named Axle who has lost his mind and must travel the world to recollect his thoughts. Some thoughts are good, and some thoughts are bad. The player must contemplate what to do with certain thoughts after they are collected. Some are used to solve puzzles, or introduce new abilities, and some are highly volatile and must be disposed of immediately after collection. The combat system is mainly based on stealth hack'n'slash combat.
This video is a quick walk-through of a basic tutorial. The spinning icons will be thoughts that are collected and produce little thought bubbles of sorts...or maybe some sort of 'brain-access' screen to file the thoughts. The materials are very early in their stages and Axle hasn't been textured yet. AI hasn't been programmed either, but will be a basic 'attack on sight' mechanic that trumps anything Axle can do to reinforce the stealth aspect of the game.
