Longstanding UK developer Rebellion has made a small number of staff at its Oxford HQ redundant, a source close to the matter has claimed.
Our source says that up to 20 Oxford-based developers could be handed their notice.
It is also thought that Rebellion has all but confirmed the closure of its Derby studio to staff internally, which faced the axe earlier in the year, with all staff put on consultancy.
Representatives for the developer could not clarify the nature of the staff cuts at the time of going to press - although we are still seeking confirmation.
In January it was revealed that Rebellion’s Derby outfit entered a consultancy period – with staff under threat of possible redundancies.
thats what happens boys and girls when you make a game that has extremely low replay-ability. If the creative director and lead producer had to have made a game with strong gameplay rather than all graphics they would have sold a fortune, and neadless to say they could have made some mod tools as well to perpetuate the fan base. Lack of forsight all around for these idiots.
