Somehow i dont think he is going to make it.
No, see; with most Alien movies the person that attempts suicide LAST survives every confrontation. With this guy, he is probably the last surviving member of his team, out of contact with any other survivors. Thus, he has a chance of surviving in the Alien™ series.
