atWar, formerly Afterwind, is a free-2-play online multiplayer turn-based strategy game (Silverlight). In the best traditions of Risk and Axis & Allies, you play against other people to fight for world domination. Features free unit movement - no grids or predetermined paths. Up to 20 players in a game, simultaneous turns. Another feature is the Map Editor allowing players to create their own maps and units, giving you the chance to re-enact any battle real or imagined. If you get disconnection problems with the Desura file right after you load the game then you should disable the firewall or add a firewall exception rule... or just go to our website and play in your browser there.

atWar now on Linux!

News 4 comments

atWar can now be played on Linux!

Now everyone can enjoy atWar thanks to Pipelight, which allows Windows applications (including Silverlight). For more information you can go to Pipelight. This has been tested on arch Linux, you still have to use an user agent switcher, because otherwise the game does not load. Thanks to the atWar member Parakooper for finding this out.

AtWar is a game where knowledge and dedication is put into it everyday... This game is a truly amazing browser game I've ever played. Just the shear fact that the developers make the game more balanced, without you paying $5-100 dollars just to win a game... This game will sharpen your geography skills as well, as all the countries name (except really tiny ones) and their capitals are given 100% correctly. I shall warn you, when you play the game, you will become addicted to it fast.

atWar is an excellent Strategic online multiplayer game.
i love it because of of this:
true based GDP on countries that make it more realistic to play and also population casualties that make the game much interesting then other browser games + ability to create your own custom map and units. which I love the most .

in my opinion it's the best browser game I ever played, enjoying every moment of me being here with cool environment

register and try it out, i am sure you will enjoy it ike me and many others that are enjoying it right now .

I tried many in-browser games, and this game really just takes the lead in the games I tried, there isn’t more than around 100.000 players active, so it’s pretty easy to get friends and chatting in room and in all other lobbies. The gameplay is nice and easy to learn, but like in all free2play games there is something they could have done better. In the game you mostly see a lot of games and cause of the new update you are able to play from the middle-age and all the way to the future. In AtWar…
