With industry work and friends taking up most of my time, and then having my computer die on me and having to reformat, I have begun to tweak parts of the animation I have done so far so I can progress more.

Hey again folks,

Sorry its been so long this will be a quick update for me as I need to get ready for another day at work, recently I have not been able to do much on the animation though I have gotten around 70% of it done in 3dsmax, about 10% I am not happy with and most of it is now being picked apart on youtube by randoms in the comments telling me not to turn AC into gundam...

So For this update I suppose I need your input so far, obviously I cant post the clips I have yet as I want to keep it a suprise, but what are you all looking for in an animation for AC?, action, realism? (mechs are hardly realistic).

Myself I wanted to go all out and do an animation that was a cross between something you would see any of the major mecha animes recently such as Code Geass, Gundam 00, or Eureka 7 and combine that with Monty Oums style of work, along side the original AC style content, to get a unique action packed blend, but with people bitching about that, I dont seem to be getting anywhere.

I know I cant keep everyone happy, but I feel like doing it purely and exactly like AC is wont be very exciting to watch purely because ACs spend most of their time in the 3d CGI scenes they are in (the openings for each game), boosting on the floor, or boost jumping, apart from that it seems like all the scenes with ACs in have been kind of lack luster in terms of action to me.

Anyway whats your take on all of this? , with AC-V not so long off, is it really bad of me to be adding extra things in like kicks off objects and stuff which is one of the main new features in AC-V?.

Your comments are all welcome below, I just wish to finish this all off and see it done.

Heya, Dave! Good to hear you found work! (I haven't been internet-bound in a while!)

I'd love to see some clunky more realistic kinda animation, to be honest. Most mechs seem /way/ to acrobatic. They're multi-story tall war machines, how graceful can they be?

Continue down the true path of Armored core, Clunky MT's and more acrobatic AC's...

True AC2-ACLR styles where the opening CG's show acrobatic Armored Cores and some Clunky versions depending on their frame types and layouts...

anyways, glad to see that your in a job and are still alive

as for Paxton,

Most of the intro's they are agile, its only when they started changing groups that the armored cores become a little more sluggish but they still hold the agility that the originals had with their quick boosters

if anything, keeping true to the original AC's would be the way to go... it gives a deeper meaning to the retro fans and the new players may find it fun to see some old school techniques applied (hell.. some old school Raven's were actually mentioned in the newer Armored cores... and possibly a return in AC5 of said Arena Masters)

im looking forward to the new game.. and im looking forward to seeing what Dave's got up his sleeve for the animation :D
