Thought I would just update you all , saying I might not be on for abit , as I am having serious computer problems , I have only just managed to back up the AC work I have done , but the problem is , I have lost all my work over the past 7 years..... and I need it for a Game Dev Conference in the next 2 weeks, so I am pretty annoyed right now...
Anyway I`ll get back to you when I can...

****** deal, well at least this time you might be able to correct some issues that you were having problems with. I wont pretend to know what. 7 years... thats quite a blow. Kill anyone yet?
Having to restrain myself from doing so Atm ,as it was my main backup drive that died T_T
Sorry to hear that Dave... the data just up and disappear? possibly try a system restore back to a specific date where its there? (but back up recent work onto a disc or External Hard Drive)
I know i lost some of my work and i did that and it was back on my PC in no time...

Trying to figure out what to do, basically I had my external HD in my pc, its a top loading External that fits into a slot in the top of my comp, its an Esata I think, now... what happened was it just stop reading it , froze my computer and started beeping constantly in a series of short beeps.
Now every time I try to top load it into my EHD port it keeps beeping and freezing the computer, the major problem being that every little bit of information on that HD is important to me , and it was my main backup drive , so I am extremely annoyed at the moment at it breaking down on me.
What type of hard drive is it? I have had two drive failures more recently that were the result of faulty firmware. Firmware being more of a software issue than a mechanical malfunction the data was not lost merely not accessible. In my case, the company responsible was at fault for the defect and repaired the issue free of charge leaving my data fully intact and readily accessible once fixed. I don't want to get your hopes up but do a search for your drive's model number see what you can find. If more people express a similar problem you can be sure someone is complaining.
