Areum is a 2D top-down medieval fantasy MMORPG, where magic ability is rare and a thing to be feared.

Shortly after posting our previous news article, we experienced a hardware malfunction which prevented us from releasing new demos. I am happy to say that the problem has been fixed and we released quite a few new demos (and made a lot of progress!).
Online multiplayer and saving is finished, and the engine now supports animated tiles, four tile map layers, and large tiles. The latest version (currently v0.0.0.232) is online and available to try out, just head on over to the downloads section!

RakNet is setup, and the old version of Areum now builds without errors (and it even runs, although the DB isn't setup correctly)

Howdy! The game caught my eyes, huge fan of 2D MMORPGs sadly most of them suck. I've got a few questions. Will you be implementing a paperdoll system? What kind of character customization can we look forward to? Armors? Hairs? Weapons? What kind of combat system? Point to move/attack or more of a keyboard action type?

There likely won't be a paperdoll system, at least not to start with. There will be armor and weapons, and probably also different looking characters. Combat won't be based on an auto attack; you will have to tell your character to make each swing. The keyboard will be used for the most part. It will be similar to one of our other games, Volund, which you can checkout here: Volundgame.com
