I was thinking the other day that it would be cool if you could implement some sort of sight-line mechanic, so if you added some islands (like a Mediterranean map for example) your units would be hidden behind the land masses unless you discovered them with your field of view or did a radar scan sort of thing. I think that in the expansion for Act of War if you wanted to find "hidden" ships you would use one of your ships to send out a radar or sonar pulse, effectively doubling the units line of sight and put blips on your map where ships were detected, but at the cost of revealing the ship that activated the pulse to the enemy.
Just some food for thought and a random idea, cant wait for a release ;)
We have to see how heavy such a mechanic would be, for now, Islands will provide protection against most weapons fire, but no line-of-sight protection, although that may still change.
It has a little lake!
