Archasis resonates with a variety of game genres in an attempt to offer a familiar but distinctive gaming experience. More specifically, it incorporates two differentiated phases of play that provide a balance between cerebral processing and endorphin-releasing action. Phase One combines components of a typical RPG with those of tactical strategy games. The player invests resources into categories of research in order to unlock character classes, weapons, armor, skills, and supplies. The player uses this phase to equip their characters for battle and distribute skill/attribute points. Phase Two focuses on action and involves missions themselves. The player embodies one of their characters in order to complete a quest. The missions are made up of any number or type of objective imaginable and are the player’s source of experience points, gold, and research points. No character development occurs within a mission, so there are no RPG-related interruptions in Phase Two gameplay.

Greetings to all the Archasis II trackers!  Archasis has now officially moved to the Unreal Development Kit (UDK) as a stand-alone game!  The team has been forging ahead with tons of new gameplay features and the entire code base has been re-written.  Although the game does not look entirely different from the mod at this point, we are on course for some big changes.  The art-side of the game is being overhauled over the next couple months to appropriately fit the capabilities of the UDK, and you can expect a demo in the near future as well!

Development will be tracked at our new ModDB page so check it out:

i have some questions if you dont mind answering:

is there going to be a buying selling system ? as in a real rpg or is it going to be some sort of "Arena" based, as in UT3 (where you dont have an Inventory at all)? in short: is there going be any inventory system involved ?!

is there going to be PC respawns as in the mod for when you die or is it that when you hit the bucket you have reload saves

i get an impression that when im watching the video for "Archasis: the game" the animations are less workedout than in the mod, as i see the game ones being drier than the mod (probably because it doesnt follow UT3 default animations anymore).

1) There is buying, but not selling. Archasis is not a "real" RPG in your terms in that it is a mix between a strategy game and a tactical RPG. Gameplay is based on story-driven missions, not arenas.

2) Overall gameplay will be significantly different than the UT3 version, so don't use that as a reference.

3)The current animations in Archasis are identical to the ones in the mod version. In addition, the Archasis mod version never (ever) used the default UT3 animations, so I'm not sure what you are thinking of. Perhaps your mind is playing tricks on you ;)

Some of those aspects will be revealed as they are developed, but only after they have been polished. The Priestess will not be in the first release so there is no public information concerning the class at this time.

Nice work, seems to become a really good game. Do you know whether there will be a German version too? I would enjoy to play it :)

Thanks, I would like to distribute it globally, so it depends on if I can find a good German translator ;)

Good work. You should focus on more convincing animations, for example when the characters run the shoulders and arms don't seem to do much, look at Demon's Souls animations for reference. The entire body bounces with every step, very convincing.
