In Anodyne, you explore and fight your way through nature, urban and abstract themed areas in the human Young's subconscious, evoked by a 16-bit-era visual style and a moody, dream-like soundtrack.
The player moves between rooms 160x160 pixels in size, an intended constraint that we used to create the monster-filled dungeons you will navigate and the set of nature-based (and sometimes stranger) places you will explore.

Hi all, long time no post...anyways, I've been working on both our new game, Even the Ocean, and the mobile port, and the iOS version is ready to be released, and will be on sale, 40% off at $2.99, on next Thursday 6/27, as "Anodyne Mobile", for universal iOS.
Anyways, it is a straight port - no new features (wouldn't make much sense to add content, in my opinion) . BUT IT'S PORTABLE! And affordable...no achievements or stuff, and it's not on desktop, so hence the discount! Well, that's part of the reason...
So yeah. Pick it up if you get the chance, tell your friends!

I became totally engrossed in the game from the start. Great graphics and the music - my God, the music - really gave it a unique edge that I hadn't felt with a game in a while. Pondering map might have been enough for me given those two aspects of the atmosphere, but I did thoroughly enjoy the gameplay. At first, caught off guard, I wondered how difficult the game would be given the ease in exterminating the red blobs and the shielded brains. Not only did the puzzling aspects of it disabuse me…
