Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alien™, Ellen Ripley's daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance. As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien. Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.
This mod will enable the "Debug Checkpoint Menu" within Alien Isolation, allowing you to teleport around the map and enable testing scripts.
To install the mod, just copy the UI.PAK into your /DATA/ folder.
To access the "Debug Checkpoint Menu", from the pause menu, go to Load Game > Toggle Debug Checkpoints. In this menu you will see all the debug checkpoints set by the developers for the map you are currently playing.
Maps and levels are two different things, for example, if you load mission 16 and mission 4 you will see the same checkpoints. This is because the map for mission 4 and 16 is the same. Checkpoints are map specific.
So for example, if you go to the Anesidora, the checkpoints there will be different to the checkpoints before you leave Sevastopol. This is because even though you're playing the same mission, you're changing map.
As explained previously, each map has a number of debug checkpoints set by the developers. Choosing a debug checkpoint will teleport you to that location in the map and will enable the correct scripts. The could be a problem if you don't have certain tools for a certain area, but you can always teleport back. Some debug checkpoints will enable/disable humans (E.G. mission 3) and some will take you to sections of gameplay.
There are a few checkpoints that will just produce a black screen. This is because they are left-over from an older version of the game, and that section of campaign has been cut. Cut section of gameplay = black screen! You'll still hear the sounds of the level, but you won't see anything. An example of the black screen is when you try to skip to part 3 on the Anesidora. Doing this will take you to a black screen because part 3 of the mission has been cut from the game.
