The game features original artwork, with with a dark sinister atmosphere combined with an off-the-wall campiness, and trippy, techno type music. There are currently over 60 maps, loaded with weapons(each having an alternate firing mode) and powerups.
Alien Arena has fast, smooth gameplay, and players can play online against one another or against the bots, which feature multiple skill levels, and will rocket jump, strafe jump, and taunt you mercilessly.

Funny, i just bought new slick PC (desktop which i can for now on upgrade) and decided to try for teh lulz how well it would run centrain games, my most demanding commercial game being RS Vegas 2 (old, console port) and running flawlessly.
So, i downloaded AA 7.53 and Nexuiz 2.5.2
In nexuiz i score pretty stable 100 FPS (arranging from 60 to 231) but in AA i could score 60 at MAX :D (arranging 47-60)
I dont know is it the AI improvements or what but it was surprising result :D
I hope that future updates wont have great performance drops ;)
with GTX 560Ti
everytime i try and change my resolution to 1440x900 it goes to a console command and just sits there. if i hit esc it just goes back to the settings and doesnt change my res. any help? thanks! :)
I think console popping up is completely normal but for me it has always changed resolution, my current setup with 1920 X 1080 and old (using GF 8600m GS) with 1440 X 900 both worked.
Are you sure you typed proper resolution to custom fields or does console tell .you something ?
Did you change the max_fps settings? AA is capped at 60 fps. cl_maxfps is the cvar you would need to set. Just type cl_maxfps 500 in the console. Also make sure vsync is disabled if you want it to go over the monitor refresh rate(usually 60 fps). (But, the game runs best when capped at 60 fps). Nexuiz also has far less detailed environments than AA, so it's not a totally fair comparison.
yup, got 47-241 fps
just tried out of curiosity, both stand out differently in graphical department.
but i prefer AA Aesthetics more.
so glad i can finaly play both of them without problems ^^
