Post news Report RSS A Hackers' Hunt 0.3 update, and a change of focus

This time, we bring both good news and bad news. Despite some distractions, A Hackers' Hunt is updated to version 0.3 today, fixing hellish bugs and changing some big features. On the other hand, we're going to slow development on the game so we can look at the deeper issues at hand.

We'd like to announce both the third version of A Hackers' Hunt, and the fact that sadly, development on the game will slow down a bit so we can look at the deeper issues at hand.

About the update

There are both new features and a range of fixes and improvements that really help to make the game more playable and enjoyable. We've finally slain the beastly bug that resulted in players being stuck in walls for infinity, or until they restarted the game. So as of now, nothing should stop you from improving yourself over and over!

A change of focus

With this news, we'd think you should know that we're making some changes to the way we're filling in our working days. Looking at the Greenlight comments and feedback from the events we've expo'd A Hackers' Hunt at, we've noticed that the feedback doesn't really change from update to update, so we've decided to take a step back and focus more on finding out the deeper reasons for the game not hitting a home run at the first impression.

We've decided to do some extensive desk research and playtesting about the art style and first impression of the game, while we're also picking up development on our Global Game Jam game, OOSOOM, again. The reason for this is that OOSOOM is a lot smaller in scope than A Hackers' Hunt and more easy to expand with new levels and obstacles. It was also better-received at the events we showed the game at, and we feel it has more chance of becoming a polished product than AHH has.

So please follow OOSOOM if you're interested in puzzle platformers! We promise it's not only for the most skilled of puzzle gamers, so please give it a try. :)

Changelog version 0.3

    • New graphic replaces Add-On interface when player is a ghost
    • All the stats from living players enhance their skills as a ghost

Fixes and improvements:

  • Improved tile sets once again
