NBKDemo
Jul 26, 2007 Demo 0 commentsHere is small Demo, it isn't much, but it is something worth showing after 1year in the making.
The Keepers are rising once again but in a better visual universe, with improved AI and possibly online play'
Natural Born Keeper is an ambitious project spear-headed by a programmer nicknamed IKSLM' His aim is to re-make the classic game Dungeon Keeper, but in immense 3D graphics, adding some new and exciting features along the way' This is no easy feat, and IKSLM and the rest of the NBK team have been pain-stakingly modelling the creatures, rooms, items etc' and creating textures to an unbelievable standard' The coding also has to be re-done, this is far more audacious than a simple re-make!
There are some small demo's and some screenshots of the progress so far, the rest is on our Forums'

Natural Born Keepers is steadily moving along to a new Demo that will be released sometime later, no date set for the time being though. :P
For now the only media I can show you is the new design of the new Overview of the overworld.
More Updates will come eventually and the project isn't dead, just taking it's time that is all. ^^ There will actually be a nice water effect added in the end to give you the extra bit of atmosphere the game needs.
Updates will come when they're ready to be shown all enquiries please ask on our Forums. ^^

i def love dk2 and i wish i would be able to play some of this too :) especially would be fun to play online
have a play at Dungeon Keeper I if you can, it is also as good.
I did not even know this was being worked on till I noticed the news thing on the front page. Very interesting. I am a big fan of DK1-2 and still dig them out from time to time. ( Well DK2 since DK1 no longer works.. even then DK2 sometimes crashes for some reason.. did not do that when I first got it but I am assuming thats due to well.. my comp is 100x better than that old one )
Anyways ( sorry large comment ) keep up the good work, hope you guys get the chance to finish/release this...oh man why couldent they make DK3 /crys
Also, if you want help with DKII tech issues or DKI.
Keepersofthedungeon.net
come to our forums, we assure you that we'll help with it.
DKII tech issues can help make it crash less. (there you can blame EA for not making a patch to fix)
as an answer to the DK3 thing.
I gather that EA did something right for once.
for if they even tried to make a DKIII, then it would probably be called "worse than DKI and DKII"
So...in all, EA did the right thing by just keeping the rights till they're ready and Peter.M is the one at fault for selling out bullfrog.
In all, there will probably be a DKIII in the end, remember the DK Engine is one of a kind. You dont want something to be a sequal and it to completely suck.
besides, if Dungeon Keeper III is in the outer realm, how exactly does it keep the title 'dungeon keeper' then? :P
I think DKIII was made a couple of years ago. Called Overlord or something like that.
lol..no, Overlord did have the DK Concept in mind but is not a DKIII ^^;
lol everuything to get someone to the forums XD
il register as soon as i have some more time :)
Creatures crawling on the walls would be interesting...but take it to the forums. :D
could it be possible: creatures crawling around walls? :o :p
woudl be sweet XD
allso, about the ligtning:
only shadow maps or a combination of shadow maps (shadowmaps for the map and dynamic shadows for the creatures)
